We were expecting to see bedlam here in the late spring of 2023, but that was not the case. Yes there is a tremendous amount of homeless and graffiti just about everywhere we looked, but Portland was such a fun time. We stayed in the historic Mississippi area. We had easy walking access to delicious food, tasty coffee, excellent beer, and delightful cocktails. What I didn’t know is that Portland is the City of Roses and that was a delight. The beauty of the rose gardens blooming in early June is something I hope to never forget. Simply gorgeous. I hope another opportunity to travel to Portland comes my way as I just adored the visit.

This is a mall in the downtown area. It seems to have been spared a lot of the things you see in other building which I assume was from the riots. Downtown is a little rugged but this mall is nice.

Sister n'law wanted to go here. She heard that there were some high end stores at this shopping mall in downtown Portland.
She found what she was looking for. My wife got a couple of good deals at H&M. We cannot afford the high end stores. Wish there were better options at the food court.
Overall, it was a good visit to Pioneer Place.

Filthy, surrounded by scum, approached 3 times by aggressive panhandlers, felt very unsafe.Do not ride the max to go anywhere it is not safe anymore.

So much potential so little done to reach anything that could be considered good. The homeless problem is huge! You can’t help but pass by people who are passed out with blood oozing out of their arm. It’s disgusting. It feels like a post-apocalyptic landscape with dirt, grime, stink, and trash everywhere along with people who feel content to live with in it. Why must Portland devolve into a trash town because a small minority thinks it’s normal? This has nothing to do with Portland’s history in logging, or its industry, or the fact that it’s near a river. All of those things don’t have as much influence over the face of a city today as some liberals want you to think. There’s a different way! A cleaner, healthier, better way! Vote Republican and clean up this trash heap!

小さいモールですが、TUMIやコーチ、フォーエバー21,H&Mが入っており、買い物ができました。お店の場所がわからず案内図を見ていたところ、警備員さんが話しかけてくれて、丁寧に場所を教えてくださいました。
