Great u-pick options in summer. Just a short distance away from Portland and Hillsboro. Wonderful place to visit with kids.

Sauvie island has many farms that you can go buy fresh produce or have the option for U-pick berries. I love spending the day going to the different farms and collecting delicious fruits and veggies to make pies and other meals.

This is a great place for the kids and family. Wear rubber boots as is very muddy at times. They have expanded the parking lot so expect large crowds and a walk. They have pumpkins of course and so much more. They have food hot dogs, grilled cheese, hot sandwiches, ice cream, and coffee. They have a corn maze, country store with fresh corn on the cob, frozen fruit pies. We saw a bald eagle chasing a great white egret across the sky.

great u pick flowers, fruits, berries and already picked. We go there every year for cabbage to make sauerkraut and then have to have the fresh corn, apples and other goodies. Really nice people.

Coming from Florida, this was my very first time visiting Sauvie Island - it reminded me of the old world: very kind and thoughtful people, very clean water and air of the countryside. Here in the late summer during the u-pick season for all kinds of berries, one can taste perhaps the most delicious berries on earth - Chester Blackberry, Blueberry, and many other kinds. I saw moms with litter ones picking berries and their facial expressions tell all - fun and happy - why not: who can resist such wonderful and sweet moments: surrounding yourselves with the ones you love while tasting the best berries! Life on this island seems to be very simple and yet people here are working hard to provide for their families. Growing fruits these days are not really making a ton of money. However, these folks love what they are doing and preserve this good earth so that many of us can enjoy. This is truly a place one can have a great time both in body and mind.

We didn’t have time to pick our own but you can buy fresh picked berries for a fair price. They are smaller than ones you see in the grocery store but so sweet and delicious! Get strawberries while you can since they have a very short season.

Our daughter recommended that we go out to Sauvie Island during our trip to Portland. We drove all around the island and enjoyed some nice scenery. We stopped in at the Farms and purchased some berries. It didn’t take long to get into the country at Sauvie Island from downtown Portland.

What a pleasant drive on Sauvie island - it's a quaint agricultural island framed by the Columbia River and Multnomah Channel. When we arrived we quickly found apple picking farms galore! The farms are very organized and drive you out to the orchards in shuttles. Our farm shared how one area where potatoes were growing was closed to only commercial picking for local potato chips. Yum! Definitely a fun afternoon for all!

We took our grandchildren to pick blueberries and certainly had a wonderful time! The people are friendly and very accommodating - they will drive you to the fields if needed. The opportunity for "U pick" is fun and unique in that it's so close to Portland. They also have wonderful stores with local produce, fruit and other items such as local honey. Some of the farms even have small petting stables with friendly animals. Everyone had a enjoyable experience.

The season started a little early this year due to the warm winter. You should be good with your travel dates. It's a great place to wander around and pick fruits.
