The food pods in Portland (food carts that have located themselves in a permanent location with other carts) are a wonderful way to eat really good food. Many of the carts only do one item, and have perfected that item. There are several food pods starting with the oldest, Cartopia. The Asylum is another wonderful food pod, located on the site of the first mental health facility in Portland. The food cart owners have done a wonderful job with decoration.

Patio de carritos de comida %50 latinos y el resto entre yanky, asiática y árabe también. Ambiente popular de día y algo vulgar de noche, más bebida que comida, va de paso para las vistas al Río y la Plaza Pioneer. Comida barata, quita hambre. Se recomienda su visita en días fríos, se aprecia mas algo calentito.

Erik and his staff know Portland, and he has put together a phenomenal tour of some of the best food carts in the area. You may only get a taste at each cart on the tour, but after 8 or 9 carts, you're belly is ready to burst. The knowledge of the different cuisines and the history of the owners of the carts makes the tour informative and personal at the same time. This is a world tour of foods that covers at least four continents. This is one tour where your money is truly well spent.

Viator apparently did notify Erik that there was a tour he was in charge of. I paid $60.00 for a 2 hour tour. After waiting for 1/2 hr I, finally got a hold of Erik, the guide. He came and spent 45 min with me because he felt bad about the whole Viator mess up. Erik is knowledgable and likable. But I missed the camaraderie of fellow tourists as I was a solo. I am 100% frustrated with Viator. I've asked for a refund which they refused. At this point I am unwilling to use this company again.

I love taking food tours and Portland is known as a foodie town. This tour was awesome. Pat our tour guide met us a hotel in downtown Portland. There were 6 of us on the tour. On the drive to our first stop as well as each one along the way, she told us the history of Portland, cute little side notes about the Simpsons connection and definitely about each of the food vendor carts we visited. We stopped at 4 different food pod areas. Our first stop we ate bulgogi tacos. They were absolutely delicious!! Stop #2 served us a deconstructed Philly Cheesesteak. It was served on a broasted potato with a homemade cheese. The sauce would be delicious on noodles too as mac and cheese! The owner came out and chatted with us sharing little secrets. Stop #3 served us a lefse wrap unique to his food cart as lefse is usually eaten plain or with powdered sugar. I can't eat pork so they accommodated me with a vegetarian filling whereas everyone else had meatballs made with pork. Everyone raved. A little extra sauce was needed on mine! Our fourth and final stop was at a pod that was located in an unusual spot - a back yard. There were 5 different vendors including a coffee spot. We were served two different stuffed waffles - one with lemon curd and blueberries and the other with chocolate and raspberries. Needless to say we were full by the end of this tour. If you go, hopefully you'll have Pat as your guide. She is a wealth of information and delightful as well!

Not only did we visit 5 different food truck pods I learned so much about the history of Portland. Our tour guide was awesome and the food was ready at every stop.

I had the Thai, my wife ate the Gyro and our friend had the Mexican. All were good portions and tasted great! The only issue would be that there was no seating.

Brett was knowledgeable and very nice. We enjoyed learning about the history of the Portland food carts but for the price we could have eaten at 4 carts for much less. Though I certainly wouldn't need that much food; it is plentiful.
The food was good and a pretty decent variety but we wrapped up in 50 minutes. I'd like that gig for myself.

When you pass by this cart and see this meat roasting it might turn you away but when you try it you will love it. They serve it only in 3 dishes. As a wrap, with saffron rice, or on a salad. I wish I knew their name. It's worth the walk around the block of food carts to find this one food cart.

Delicious food to be had at these food trucks, as evidenced by how busy they were with the locals at lunch time!

You can just stop by and buy food from any cart you want like buying lunch.
Tour gives you history, about green recycle containers and about each of food carts you visit. Tried things I would not have bought on my own.

Yes. We get small items from 4 different vendors which equates to more than a full meal.
