Visit this garden rose before going to the International Rose Garden. It is smaller but just as beautiful with a large fountain in the middle. It's located in a residential area, so drive around and admire the beautiful house architecture and landscapes.

Truly enjoyed a day walking through the roses. They do a beautiful job with this garden! Would 10/10 recommend visiting.

Every time I passed this park, I thought of Paris. Turns out it was designed by Olmsted architects who modeled it on the Luxembourg Gardens. We moved to this neighborhood, largely because of this park. It's a great gathering spot for a variety of people and events, and I just love it. I make it a point to walk through it every day.

This was my favorite thing that we did in Portland. The roses in June are breathtaking. I had no idea that there were 600 kinds of roses.

This is a great place to spend time outdoors! Huge magnificent trees, a nice playground and activities in the recreation center are just part of the offerings. Add in a very pretty rose garden and it’s a jewel of a family friendly park.

Enjoy the roses and the architecture from early 20th century. Also has two baseball fields and basketball courts. Swings, etc and summertime water play for the little ones.

We love visiting this rose garden but restrooms are on the other side of the park-where transients gather around making you feel unsafe. I would recommend visiting in the morning as it gets busy later in the day, specially in the Summer.

When I first moved to Portland, I literally stumbled upon this garden/park during a walk around my new neighborhood. The park as a whole is a standard city park with areas for picnics, an old school bandstand structure (!) and a baseball diamond but then....then you wander a little past the bandstand and a sunken formal rose garden with a water fountain unfolds before you! How fabulous! So civilized! A a perfect tribute to The Rose City. HIGHLY recommended on a beautiful day.

They were not so many people with tripods and light deflectors and......
We were late a little late in the season but the garden is beautifully manicured and the roses a welcoming scenery.

Stunningly gorgeous formal rose garden with a large fountain, bandstand, picnic areas in the shade, surrounded by a park. Free to visit. Plenty of shopping and restaurants nearby on the Mississippi Avenue corridor or the Alberta Street corridor, both of which are close to Peninsula Park Rose Garden. Plenty of public transit options plus there's on-street parking.

Probably yes. It’s late in the season but Oregon is beautiful and the Rose garden is a cool place to hang for a while on a nice summer day.

Soon there will be rhododendrons, but the lovely roses should be at their best in May, June, and July depending on how hot summer will be. I was there in Sept and there were still pretty roses, but I think June is best to coincide with Portland's Rose Festival.
