The park itself was fairly nice. Some statues and large trees. Also a homeless tent community. One guy sleeping in a sleeping bag looked worse for wear.

There is a War Memorial located in this park that takes up one city block. In winter the branches in the background offsets the lone Volinteer Infantry Man dashing off to fight for freedom. The park has a few park benches and paved walkway through the park and around this War Memorial.
The park is in between SW 3rd and SW 4th on the East and west sides of it. And in between SW Salmon and SW Main on its North and South sides. A nice place to rest.
There is a bold defiant wildlife statue of a Bull Elk stands in the middle of SW Main that is the most impressive and dramatic of the statutes, probably because it is standing in the middle of a street and cars drive by it on the left and right.
This is one of three consecutive park squares between SW Salmon and SW Jefferson.

This park is located on the Westside of Portland across from the county courthouse. In the park there are 2 veterans’ memorials, "Soldiers Monument" dedicated to those Oregonians killed in the Spanish American war, the other is a fountain to memorialize those individuals of Company H. There is a large homeless population that calls this home, but we had no issues with any of the homeless.

This is your standard city park. There is a statue, some grass, and a few benches. The coolest thing is that there is one absolutely giant tree. Other than that it's not really a tourist thing, just a city park.

Portland is known for its green space. This particular park in one of three blocks of parks and contains a central monument to Portland's soldiers who fought for America. It has greened up nicely after being overused by protesters who camped there in the past. It's spring, and the trees are showing nicely. It's time now for the grass to be trimmed and the area cleaned up for the warmer season. Still, it's a great place to walk, and get away from the office or apartment.

The land for this park was donated by the primary founder of Portland, which could have been named Boston, but for the flip of a coin. There are two wonderful monuments to the men of United States 2nd Volunteer Infantry who were first in the fight and served valiantly in the Spanish American War. One monument, with a bronze soldier on top, was dedicated in 1904 to the 64 Oregon soldiers Who Made The Supreme Sacrifice. At the bass are two small canons used to defend Fort Sumter during the Civil War. The second, a lime stone sculpture with a drinking fountain, was dedicated in 1914 to the men of Company H of the 2nd Oregon Volunteers, by their "Mothers, Sisters & Wives". There are plenty park benches to rest and take in the simple beauty of this park and the other Square to the south.
