We visited Johan Vineyards as part of a wine tour and are so glad our tour planners included them as a stop. Morgan, the winemaker, enjoyed sharing her wines and talking about the effort that goes in to making them. The wines were some of the best we tasted in 3 days of touring the Willamette Valley!

The owner is very friendly and willing to tell you about their place. Johan is very knowledgeable about the plantings and the area to grow his grapes to make it Organic.

If you are reading this because you are going to be anywhere near this winery, it is well worth the visit! Follow the signs for Left Coast. People in the industry send people here. The owner Doug has an MBA in business, but his passion led him to
wine, and he never left. His humility is very impressive,and he, Dan and his team produce some incredibly amazing wines at affordable prices. Upon request from California, they made Zero/ Zero (release party in June 2019), which has zero additives (no sulfur or anything). It is absolutely delicious and definitely should win some kind of biodynamic award. The views are stunning, and if you love smaller scenes, this is totally for you! Every single wine was very good, and it was very difficult to choose a favorite among the reds. With family roots in Norway, many of
the wines reflect the culture and the stories are fun (one is named after Doug's Dad, Nils, who loves Pilsner beer). If you are a true wine lover, visit here. Choose it before another and spread the word. You will be glad. This place, these wines, and Doug are underrated. Everything was first class, and I can't say enough.

Off Hwy. 99 you need to turn into the gate where Left Coast Cellars gate/entrance is located. You fellow the signs up the road to reach the tasting room.
The views from this place are well worth the drive. We enjoyed sampling their Petillant Naturel Pinor Noir. The patio seating overlooking the vines is ideal for sipping a glass of their wine.
Definitely worth a visit!

Really enjoyed my visit here. Very knowledgeable and friendly staff. Learned a lot about bio-dynamic farming. Very unique experience overall

Wasn't crazy about wines except last one sampled. Pretty views and pleasant service. Next to Left Coast cellars as well.

We love visiting Johan. They have some unique varietals and the staff is alway very knowledgeable about the wines. Definitely recommend!

I visited Johan Vineyards the same day I visited Left Coast Cellars. These folks have some seriously gorgeous real estate well off the beaten path of the insane winery traffic up north. Johan is TINY - I visited during harvest & had to negotiate my car around the loads of freshly-picked grapes. How cool is that? Then I got out of my car & stood there watching the grapes being processed right next to the tasting room. In Napa you would have to PAY for that experience. To top it off, the wines are really excellent. The lady that runs their small tasting room is extremely knowledgeable & helpful. I ended up buying a bottle of Blaufrankish for a German friend who is a serious wine geek - this wine is so good that I know he'll be impressed. Johan is small, beautiful, quiet & offers qualify wines - visit it & enjoy the peace & deliciousness!!

What a fun place to visit and such good wines to taste. We really enjoyed the experience that the tasting room provided. A broad array of wines to taste, all with great guality. Fun staff who help you understand the philosophy of growing Biodymamic grapes and converting these grapes to great wines. One of the most diverse selections of wine varieties in the valley. Don't miss this one...

We accidentally discovered this lovely, family owned vineyard and tasting room. While ignoring the "attack cat" :-) we enjoyed the taste offerings and purchased couple bottles of the 2014 Estate Pinot Noir, a well rounded Pinot with a great aftertaste.
