We were in Silverton and decided to do a tour of the covered bridges in the area. All of the ones we visited were fascinating, and the Gallon House Bridge was no exception. If you have a day to spend meandering over the countryside, do a tour of the covered bridges. We did 6 in one day and enjoyed every one of them!

Fun to see a part of Oregon history on a rural road between Silverton and Mt. Angel. Very close to main roads so gets you back on track fairly quickly.

I love covered bridges and this one is still used and in great shape! Easy to pull off the side of the road and check it out on foot; just be careful because it is a frequently used bridge!

This historic bridge is amazing. The history behind this bridge takes you back into another time. The construction of this bridge is truly fantastic. I did enjoy just hanging out and being there, very peaceful.

It’s really nice in late summer because there are hop fields so is smells wonderful. Maybe you will get to see some fall colors. The bridge is kept in great condition.

One of Oregon's surviving covered bridges. It got it's name due to a local moonshine maker in the distant past. Always nice to visit. Prior to 1964 Oregon had over 250 covered bridges. The "Christmas Flood" of 1964 tragically destroyed 3/4ths of them.

Went to find the covered bridge. Enjoyed a visit. The history Of Bridge is interesting. I took my mother, who was born the same year the bridge was built- 1916
