Service and food above and beyond expected

This review is actually for the restaurant at the golf course, the Bunker Grill. My husband and I went for our anniversary dinner. I had checked out the menu on the webpage and had my taste buds set for Chicken Fettuccini; however, when we got there, the menu had been changed and it was not longer available. (They hadn't updated the website to reflect the change in menu). I made a second choice, but our server was nice enough to mention it to the General Manager, John, and he came to the table and said that they would make it for me even though it wasn't on the menu. Awesome! A few minutes later, he came back and said he'd spoken too soon and they didn't have all the ingredients, but they would go to the store and buy them so they could make it. Apparently, our server went to the store to buy cream and because we had to wait. John "gifted" us with an appetizer to tide us over. Unbelievable! The fettuccini, by the way was delicious and, as if they hadn't done enough for us already, a complimentary dessert showed up because it was our anniversary. What a great experience it was dining there!

Great meals for all to enjoy

The Bunker Grille at the course has some of the best lunches, dinners and breakfasts on the coast of Oregon. Surely a must if your in the area to checkout the cheese factory. You won't be disappointed.

Very disappointed at the quality of this course

I have played at Alderbrook since it was a simple inexpensive country course. It was sold and redeveloped. The clubhouse was built and a lot of work was done on the front nine. Of course the green fees went up accordingly. Given that it is one of the few 18 hole courses between Lincoln City and Manzinita I would expect the course be kept up. We had not played it in about two years. I was shocked at the quality of the traps (overgrown with weeds), the edge of the greens had ridges that stymied any putting from off the fringe. The fairways were very bumpy, not rolling but uneven. The greens themselves were ok, a little fast but we can adjust to that. I do not think this course is worth the green fees. BTW - restaurant at the club house closed recently.

Called at 3pm to see if a tee time was available for later in the day and the course is closed?? Unreal.

18 Challenging Holes

For anyone trying to stay on top of their golf game, or, simply to have something to do, other than heading to the beach, we suggest you try this 18-hole course. The greens fee is reasonable, golf carts are available, and the front nine holes, in particular, are fun and reasonably well groomed. The 2nd nine holes seemed tougher, especially # 15 a steep par 3 - but then, coming off the steep hill - # 16 teeing ground - is lots of fun. A men's group, a five-some , was in front of us but could not have been friendlier, and kept telling us to play through if they ever slowed us down (which they did not) ... a real plus to the place.

Great Value

Super friendly staff welcomed us for a quick 9 holes as we passed through. The course is fun but was suffering from this summer's drought. We walked with no problems. At less than $20 it's a great value.

Take time to play the course

Had a great time playing this old style course with tree lined fairways. Was able to get on at the last minute. Staff was pleasant. Washroom was amazing - clean and interior decorated. Such a treat. Green fee was reasonable and the cart cost at $20.00 was a deal. Course moved well. Enjoyed the elevated tee boxes but didn't enjoy the 15th hole which was a par three where distance but rather elevation upward was the issue. We will be back.
