Edgefield is an amazing property anyone would enjoy. Been there many times but something was different this time. Went for one of their concerts and figured time for food and a walkabout in the gardens.
The concert was way oversold and traffic control so poor we barely made it. Food would have taken another hour so we ate nothing. Won't go back ever. Looked forward to this for 6 mos. Tank of very expensive gas, overnight in hotel and of course, Portland traffic snarl made this an ordeal. No more.

Great place to meet, enjoy the NW feel, outdoor fire pits, great food, ability to stroll around the estate even on a rainy day. I have enjoyed the pitch and putt, the movie venue, walkable yards. Very kind, thoughtful staff.

We found this gem while out walking and it was such a great place to visit. At first we were a little confused as to what exactly was being offered (there's so much), but we eventually found the tasting room and ordered a couple of wine flights to enjoy outside. We were visiting with our 2 year old so outside seemed like the best option, but the indoor seating was so beautifully laid out in the cellar with rugs and small tables topped with flickering candles. The flights were $10 but this was deducted from the price of the bottle we purchased. There were also flights of cider for $8. The grounds were beautiful and there were a few secretive sheds hosting bars and even a clay workshop. Inside the lodge there was a restaurant and gift shop. We weren't able to stay for the live outdoor music that Thursday night (6-9pm) but we did see dozens of people starting to arrive already around 4.

We saw this winery online and decided to stop by on our way back to Portland. Had no idea that it was part of a resort in Troutdale. A bit hard to find the winery but we were really glad we did! I tasted 4 white wines and my husband tried four ciders. The tasting room is cool and very relaxing. We enjoyed the staff, they were quite helpful. A great experience!

We enjoyed our wine flight in the tasting room, the stillness and privacy. Since it was my husband's birthday it was just what we wanted. The music was fun (60's), and not too loud so we could carry on a conversation.

Ate here twice now while traveling over the last 9 months or so. Nice atmosphere and they treat you well. Unfortunate you have to cash out at bar before moving to table to eat, but minor inconvenience. Outdoor landscaping and feel is very nice. Haven't been there in mid-summer but hope to go back.

Sam was nothing short of terrific .... She openly admits that she prefers beer, but finds that wine is her passion, and she has a wealth of knowledge if you want to sample any of the wines, or wine flights, here in the tasting room .... She's good, no nonsense, but with a smile on her face that will tell you you have been well taken care of .... The place is lucky to have her in their employ

We have been to Edgefield twice in the last year, most recently a few days ago. Both times we were with several family members.
The first time we ate in the hotel restaurant. Most recently we ate in the pub.
Both times the service was not impressive, it took almost an hour after we were seated to get our food, and the food was nothing special.
I recommend walking around the grounds and the buildings. Everything is beautiful to look at and very whimsical. But eat somewhere else.

Brought out of town relatives for a relaxing evening. The wine was excellent as always. There was a local group playing. Their music was low key and very suited to the space. It’s a great place to hang especially on a rainy evening. Very cozy.

Food, Drinks and a lawn concert what's better to do in Oregon. Visiting the area and it seems we hit it just right. We didn't make it to the lawn but we listened while we ate some very good food.

Where did you stay during your visit? Also do I need to bring my own lawn chairs or is everything set up, it alcohol served?

You can stay at the lodge on the property but I would save that for a special occasion. This lodge is a converted county farm that used to be a working farm for the poor where they raised all their own food. The property is quite extensive and has been redone with funky artwork and attention to detail that makes this a complete venue. There are quite a few motels within a short drive if you are just passing through or stopping by just to eat. You will find everything you need there or they will make sure you are comfortable. They make their own wine and beer on site, check it out.

Planning to come up Monday. Tell me more about the winery package, when is that available? Coming up for Son In Laws (Hudson Bay) football playoff in Camas beginning at 6 PM. Probably not back until 9PM. Is that do-able? Could come up earlier in the day and save rest of bottle for when we got back?

The website says there isn't enough parking for all so biking or taking Trimet is suggested. We're coming from too far away to take the bus the whole way. Is there a grocery store parking lot (or the like) close to the bus stop where we could park our car then take the bus to the venue? If we get lucky and can park at the venue, will we be able to get out of the parking area if we leave early? The website indicates,"When possible, the first cars in are the first ones out. "What does that mean?

I agree - there is always parking available. If there is a concert however, the cars do back up getting in and out and it may take a while. Go enjoy - it's a fabulous place.
