If you enjoy a well maintained covered bridge, then the modest drive inland from Yachats is well worth your time. It's private property on the other side of the bridge, so we were respectful and didn't drive through. We walked through, and were impressed with the big wooden beams, and the "olden-days" ambiance. Plus, there is an enormous tree on the hillside near the small parking area that is a sight to see in itself.

The Yachats ciovered bridge is a fun little drive 9 miles back into the coast range. This covered bridge is surrounded by private property so please be respectful . Also while there take a look at the old growth spruce tree on the embankment above the bridge. I would think it to be a world record .

My husband and I were so glad that we decided to drive and see the covered bridge. I have never been to one before and wanted to really go see one. It was nice to see the farms and trees on the drive out to the bridge. The last two miles are on an unpaved road. The bridge itself was beautiful. We walked in and out of it a few times. We were the only one's there so we had it all to ourselves.

The drive winds through lush forest, past a few residences. The last 1.5-2 miles are narrow, winding, gravel, so caution is in order. Bridge is well-maintained & graffiti-free. Parking is limited to two or so spaces. Biggest disappointment: there is no plaque or interpretive signage. We didn't drive through; private property lies on the other end.
I'm glad we drove out there. My plan is visit all of Oregon's covered bridges.
NOTE: Don't take your RV or over-sized vehicle. There's not enough room to turn around.

The drive out Yachats River Road from the town of Yachats offers a pleasant, wooded and river view drive. However, the 1.5 mile side road to the covered bridge ended in disappointment. The bridge is in excellent condition due to repairs completed a number of years ago, but there is no historical sign or information at the bridge. I only know this because I googled for any information on the bridge once I returned to town where there was cell phone service. In addition, there is very little room for a car to pull over and enjoy walking around the bridge, plus the road ends with a private property gate on the other side. There is no picnic table or any other enhancements to encourage visiting the site, other than a quick drive-by. Perhaps this is on purpose to discourage loitering, trash, etc?

Loved the drive out to this bridge. The bridge is a little shorter that most covered bridges, and the road appears to pretty much end on the far side of the bridge into someone's drive/yard. We just turned around and went back to town.

The scenery was gorgeous on the drive over and we saw a large herd of elk up close! The bridge is quaint and nice to see/walk through.

We like the drive there, but the bridge is rather small and I/m not sure it's worth the drive to get there.

It was a pleasant drive along the Yachats River and forest. We drove about 7 miles then turned left to N. Fork Yachats River rd. Drove about 2 miles on the gravel road and there it was. If covered bridge is your thing, it is worth it. It was not to me. But it was worth seeing the 350 year old spruce tree nearby. Look up the hillside from the small turnout before the bridge.
