Nice course. All 3 side are nice; some tighter than others. You can usually get in without a tee time but you can easily make online reservations. Beer is not overly priced but it is a golf course.

This use to be a nice a play to play a round of golf. It was recently bought and is under new ownership and management figured they would almost double the greens fees and people would keep playing. Well they have lost me and my group of 20 or more guys who play regularly. Green fees are absolutely a joke now. Much better places to play for much less. I understand business and I also understand how to exercise my right to play somewhere. Don’t be a sucker and do yourself a favor and play elsewhere. You won’t regret it.

I am an avid and decently good golfer (9 hdcp) and this was my first time at Lindenwood as I usually play at numerous other tracks. With three 9’s and the prospect of playing a different course I was enticed enough to give it a shot. We played the gold/blue combination so this is what I am reviewing.
The 9’s were truly different, with the gold being more open and relatively level and the blue sporting many different elevation changes, some drastic (2 club drop). From that standpoint it was an engaging round as for the most part it offered a unique challenge on each hole. We played from the blue tees and it was wet (after all this is Pittsburgh) but that didn’t detract from the overall experience. Yes, the course had some drainage issues in places (low spots on blue were the offenders) but the greens and fairways were well maintained. We played as a threesome on a busy weekend in just a few minutes over 4 hours, also a plus.
What causes me to score it a 3 instead of 4 is the price. It was 58 dollars on the weekend and while yes the course is nice there are other courses, many in fact, around the Pittsburgh area for less money (some as much as 15 dollars less on the weekend) that are equally as challenging and well kept. Priced as it was, the course should have been better. At this price on other courses I have seen rangers on the course to keep pace (none here), beverage carts (none here) and perhaps a little more fine tuning around the traps and greens as well as more fairway bunkers and a layout that requires precise shot placement. Here, it’s just an overpriced example of why golf is seeing big declines in participation.
I’m not saying it was a bad course, just that it is an overpriced course in my opinion. I probably will go back, but not more than once a year. My money goes a lot further at other courses that hold up to or exceed the condition and experience of playing Lindenwood.

Love the fact there are three (3) different, and I do mean different nine (9) hole courses from which to choose. Gold (up at the top of the hill, is probably the most forgiving, Red (start in front of clubhouse) is longest, Blue (start out beyond the lot/large pond out front) is the least forgiving. Each has truly challenging, fun, unique, frustrating (LOL), and interesting features and holes. Pin placements don't really change much, they seem to habitually keep to the sides more than not, other than that, one of the best in the Public South Hills area choices, no doubt! Heck,

Course normally great but red course has #7 under construction with a temp makeup hole. Also digging near #4 tee. Many small work carts running around making noise. Very distracting. No reduction in green fees. Blue course in good shape. Green fees a little high compared to Ponderosa and Madison.

They have three nine hole courses (Red, Blue and Gold) that all play well. All of the courses will test your skills, and they are well taken care of, as well as quite picturesque. The Red and Blue courses have a handful of water hazards, whereas the Gold course doesn't have that much water to contend with. The seventh hole on the red course will truly test your short-game skills (and try your patience also). It is a short par three that you have to drop your tee shot over the ominous water hazard, but in front of the sand traps that sit on the back side of the green. Depending on the pin placement, it could get the best of you.
Overall, a very well maintained and challenging set of courses.

Juicer's review is inaccurate. Lindenwood Golf club was founded and is still owned by the Wylie family. Their greens fees have not doubled. Yes their greens fees are a bit higher than other courses in the area but if you believe that you get what you pay for, so what? I am just astounded that a 2 year old review hasn't been challenged before today.
