A group of seven friends visited this winery for a tasting on Oct. 13. Some of us work in wineries in the Finger Lakes of NY, so all of our tastings were graciously comped. Matt was a great server, friendly and knowledgeable. There was a real variety of estate grown wines served in the flight, from dry to sweet, white and red. We were pleasantly surprised at the quality, as PA doesn’t (yet) have a great reputation for dry wine. We all left with at least one bottle, and a new appreciation for wine from the area.

I had my first taste of their Cabernet Sauvignon at La Fava in Glenn Mills in August of 2020. I was very impressed with how good the wine was that we eventually visited the winery on June 30 of 2020 and bought a case of their wines including reds, whites and rose. I could not believe these wines were grown, aged and bottled here in PA. We will be spending more time in the area and eventually join the wine club. Their wines are every bit as good as what I have had in Napa and Sonoma.

We stopped at Penns Woods just by picking a winery near to where we were and it was fantastic. We were warmly greeted by Kathy and she led us through our tastings. Our wine tastes generally prefer reds and the ones we tasted were excellent. The wine tastings were very affordable and the price of the wines were commensurate with their high quality.

The beautiful location coupled with incredibly good wine makes a day at Penns Woods Winery truly exceptional. Can't say enough good about the friendly and knowledgeable staff as they welcome you in as though you were part of the family. These folks enjoy what they do and it shows!

We were looking for a local winery to visit before going to Longwood Gardens and I’m so happy we found Penns Woods!
We were there on one of the first days reopening after Covid and the winery has done a wonderful job in adapting to the state requirements.
We booked a tasting, which was held outside in a pavilion. They had a seating every few hours and the group (at socially distant tables) all went through the tasting together. We tasted 5 wines and the hostess talked about each one as we tasted.
For our $25 tasting fee, we had 5 generous samples (much larger than a normal tasting), an individually packaged snack tray, and the full size wine glass to keep.
I would definitely return!

A great place to spend an afternoon! As long as you're eating outside, you can just grab a picnic table and enjoy the beautiful countryside, right next to the vineyards. You can either bring your own picnic basket or purchase cheese trays on-site. You can get wine by the glass or bottle, and two local beers. Needless to say they aren't crazy about you bringing outside beverages. All of their wines are made from home-grown grapes, and from our tasting this weekend all of their wines are excellent. They even supply some yard games... Note that in the Fall you need to make reservations if you want to do a tasting.

I hosted a party for about 40 friends and family at Penns Woods Winery on a Friday evening in September. I cannot say enough about what a great experience it was from A to Z.
When I was scoping out wineries in the area, PW was consistently quick to respond to all my questions and clearly explain exactly what I needed to know to host an event there. The covered patio and outdoor space were lovely- picturesque, casual and relaxed, and convenient for our size party as well as a much much larger event. The pricing was fair, and after we selected PW for our event, Carly T, the staff member who was working with me, helped me finalize all details and ensure there would be no unexpected surprises. They even committed to closing the winery a bit earlier so we could have more time for our party! The night of the event, the staff had everything prepared and were seriously SO helpful in setting up, serving and keeping the food/bar/space maintained and refreshed during the event, and afterwards helping us pack up the extra food, etc. They went above and beyond to not only host a fun evening, but also help us enjoy our own party.
The wine of course was delicious too. I can’t recommend this place highly enough- the staff truly go above and beyond in doing their job and representing the best in hospitality. Thank you!

Went a few weeks ago with a girlfriend, we had a great time. Chardonnay is good and the view from the covered porch of the vineyard if excellent.

Tonight’s event shows how Penns Woods has distance themselves from every other winery in the region. Their staff is second to none and the overall experience continues to expand the the gap from their closes rival. Carly, Andrea, Davide constantly show how important their customers are to them and they exceed our expectations on a daily basis

We do have special events and festivals! To find a list of upcoming event visit our events page on our website (the third tab from the left at the top of our site). What dates were you looking to visit? I would be happy to give you details of what will be going on at that time. Our tastings change seasonally- Currently we are offering two different tastings - A sweet flight and a dry flight. Each flight is $9 if you taste at our tasting bar and $12 if you would like table service. Reservations are not needed for groups under 6.
