May is a perfect time to visit this small, but beautiful, arboretum. They have a wonderful selection of azaleas and rhododendron. Plus, many unusual spring flowers. The plants are all well labeled. It is free to visit, but you can make a donation. They also have plants for sale. And, they have bathrooms.

While visiting our good friend in nearby Ardmore, Pennsylvania, we took a morning to visit the Jenkins Arboretum & Garden. Although many of the plants, most notably the azaleas, were not in bloom in mid-September, the gardens and arboretum were still very impressive. We especially enjoyed the extremely large lily pads in the small pond at the bottom of the hill. We thought that the plants and trees were very well labeled. The trails are smooth but quite hilly for someone with any mobility issues. The reception area had a small gift shop andd some very nice native plants for sale just outside.

I was very impressed with this park. It is well shaded and provides good exercise due to the sometimes inclined path. I imagine it would be difficult for strollers, wheelchairs, or if you have difficulty walking inclines. The plants are clearly marked which is nice if you are interested in them. The small store and artwork in the main building was also very nice. A true gem in a residential area. Worth a visit if you enjoy parks. There were some benches to sit and enjoy the scenery.

We have not been here for many years. Although it’s not the best time of year to see a lot of color it’s was a really nice visit. The hills are well landscaped. The pond area is very large with a variety of plantings which attracted lots of birds and insects.

The education building is new to us and it looks like it is a great space. They have a small gift shop and the person at the desk gave us some good information about the area.

Enjoy the Rhodos and azaleas in May and return for the summer wildflower display. This 48 acre garden has a 1.2 mile trail to stroll, and a Franklin Tree near the pond. DO visit when you are in town for the Devon Horse Show

This is a nice shady spot for a walk. Unfortunately, when we went it bust have been between blooming seasons but how can you argue with free?
Bear in mind that it is built on a sloping hill so if you have trouble walking or are pushing a wheel chair you may not want to go too far. Other than that, I'm glad Devon has the little Oasis.

I absolutely love to visit Jenkins Arboretum. The visitor center is a beautiful design and always has a special exhibit and/or gifts to view. The grounds and paved paths are so well maintained. It's such a peaceful and zen place. The woodland plantings are beautiful with many impressive native collections. The pond area is georgeous. Highly recommend!

Highly recommended!
I visit - with my family or a friend - whenever I am able, and, each time, the experience restores me. In every season, the arboretum's sights, sounds, and smells delight and enrich me. I am very thankful for this natural treasure and for the kind, skilled, dedicated staff and volunteers who nurture it.
As an older person who walks with some difficulty, I find the rolling trails somewhat challenging, but well worth the effort; the well-maintained pathways and periodic benches, for resting, are very helpful, and I am aware that staff have transported via golf cart a visitor who has been unable to navigate the property on foot.

A friend and I love to hike or walk on the weekends. I wanted to go somewhere different, so I planned on us going to Jenkins Arboretum and Garden, then to La Cabre Brewing and finish with a walk along the Radnor Trail. I am already planning to go back next spring to see the azaleas, magnolias, and rhododendrons are in bloom. Even without them in bloom, there were fall blooms and really cool looking strawberry bushes. I love that they have numbers on all the trees and give you a key so that you can figure out the various trees. The pond is lovely and there were still water lilies in bloom. It was very tranquil and a most enjoyable visit. It has these large painted water cans and large butterflies that add a whimsical nature to the grounds. It is a green building and the visit is free. It is well work a visit.

Water lilies were blooming. Magnolia's were blooming and putting off their fragrance. July is not the best time of the year to go and see the many blooming flowers. It is a very peaceful place to walk and sit. Admission is free.
