Wonderful day, unusually warm Spring, thoroughly enjoyed by our 6/9 year old grandchildren. Huge acreage surrounding the Kids Castle with paved walking paths and several pavilions. Parking is a little sparse and restrooms were not yet open (There were 2 port-a-potties).

This is an AWESOME park!! I took my kids and met up with a friend on the Thursday of NJ Teacher Convention. We live in NJ and had no school, and PA schools were in session, so the park wasn't overly crowded. It was the prefect day to go! My 6 and 1/2 year old and 3 and 1/2 year old were able to navigate the park on their own. We ended up spending about 4 and 1/2 hours at the park! We packed a lunch (picnic tables are located outside of the park area). There were water fountains and port-a-pottys. The park in fenced in with one entrance/exit, so it's easy to keep track of the kids. This was totally worth the 50 minute drive and I can't wait to take the kids again!

It just doesn't get any better! My Grands 4 and 8 loved every minute at the Castle even though the heat index was off the charts!

I just recommended this place to clients right now. It’s a great FREE place to bring kids. Even 10 year olds to play. The playground is huge and there is also a creek behind it that is like 3 inches that kids love. Chris Vtrainers Personal Training

I moved here in 1998. I had four kids starting in 2000... when my oldest was 4, she said, "Dadda! You have to take me to KidsCastle!". I was like, sure. Whatever.
HOLY COW.
Families (especially Dads), this is the real deal.. imagine you dreamed up an 8 story wooden castle that was 'your' size where you can pretend to be pirates, race your friends in the dual 40 foot tall racing slides, and more importantly, hide where your parents can't find you and if they go looking, it's kid-sized friendly so that you can beat them to the top!
That's kids castle... Designed for kids but safe for adults.
(And then they were going to destroy it in 2012... luckily my daughter convinced me to get involved, and we did save it!)
I currently am the Finance Director of Friends of SaveKidscastle. While the castle is currently closed, it will be open soon- as in when there is no more snow on the ground and certainly by April 1, 2022!

Can get a little crowded, but that's because the Kids Castle is so much fun for the kiddos. Can be a little intimidating for smaller kids though, and their parents, because it's easy to lose track of them.

Visiting from out of town. Very nice well taken care of park. My 5 year old loved it! Lots of options for kids to play! Slides, swings and even digital games.

My kids (2, 5 and 9) played for 2 and half hours at this place in 35 degree weather and didn't want to leave. It's_that_fun. We came all the way from New York City specifically to see this attraction (and a few others). My kids would come again just to go to the kids castle. It just never got boring for my kids. They, and I, highly recommend it.

Ales every child feel like a prince/princess. What a fantastic treasure locals have! We live many states away, but found time in our vacation to work on a 2 hour visit. It was hot and quote busy the day e went, but still so fun! We packed a picnic snack, and have plenty of shady tables from which to choose. I overheard a group of young mother's talking about their monthly meeting there. On girl said she had never been, and one girl said she had never even heard of it! That's sad for something so cool to not be better promoted locally. I found it on the internet before we ever left. Love it,over it!!

It is open during daylight hours. There are no gates to keep people out but there are a few cameras for safety and security reasons. There are signs that ask people to stay off during poor weather but again it is not overseen by employees.

5-12 but kids of all ages were there. Nearby pirate ship keeps toddlers happy too :). And adults were also climbing inside !

Dogs are allowed in the park on a leash, but I don't believe they are allowed in the castle area itself. If your kids are old enough to go in the castle area by themselves, you can have a dog outside the castle fence. There is only one entrance into the castle area and the fence is not high, so you can easily keep an eye on them.

The closest port is the Port of Philadelphia, and unless you are doing a shore excursion from there, the answer is no. Even if you come into Philadelphia, the castle is a good hour's drive from the port.

There is no grilling in the playground itself although there are pavilions and picnic areas around the Park. It's best to call Doylestown Township's main offices directly to find out all the offer. I hope that helps :)

Visit the Central Park page (the park where Kid's Castle is located) here: goo.gl/kJBSQ5 It doesn't directly say that grilling is allowed or prohibited, but the Park Map shows there's a Pavilion facility and the Events section mention something about a Barbecue Party. You'll get the idea.
