Not open anymore. Drove out for no reason closed at the end of 2022. This needs to be updated so people don’t drive out for a place that has been closed.

The building seems to be starting to look run down on the inside. They didn't seem to have as many vendors as they use to. There were empty stalls and the food counter was closed.

This place provides a unique step back in time, a journey through your past, holding memories tangibly while reminiscing past experiences. Oh - plus a whole bunch of stuff that's just COOL! Whether you have just a 15 minute spree (better move fast!) or a full day to spend, you won't leave disappointed ...or empty handed!

Formally home to the Lighting Guider Sled Company, the Sled Works is a great place to shop for antiques, collectibles, furniture, coins, country crafts and handmade items. The 100+ vendors keep adding more items on a regular basis. They also have a room where you can play vintage games, such as pinball, shooting, and other arcade games. One vendor has a whole space with holiday decorations, mostly Christmas. They have a vintage soda fountain and snack bar, but it is currently closed. A car museum is also inside. A history of the sled works is contained in another section.

Even if you don't buy a thing, walk on back to the Sled Works 'museum' or the display of vintage cars. There is also a 1950's style soda fountain open from around Dec to February. What you don't want to do is go when it is hot outside unless you know exactly what you want and where to find it. No A/C and stifling inside on hot days. The fans help, but mostly they just move very hot air around. I travel down to this place several times a year - but have learned to avoid in hot weather. The staff - despite the conditions - have always been helpful and friendly.

Yes if was August. I get that. I was surprised as this was a factory until 1988 the ventilation was not better.
The prices compared to other places in the area were higher and the selection was mediocre.

The old sled works is 50's and 60's alive, plus a very large antique store. Lots of fun for several hours. PS soda fountain only open on weekends in summer.

Great selection of antiques and really good prices. In the back there’s quite of selection old games and a soda counter. The building is an antique itself. Give yourself lots of time to explore!!!

The Old Sled Works is a great place to spend a day. And the soda fountain is now OPEN! Serving soup, a few sandwiches, and some local ice cream. You can shop, eat, and visit the small museums.

This is a 30,000 square foot antique store in the 1904 Lightning Guider Sled factory (including a sled museum, a car museum, a soda fountain that was unfortunately closed during our visit, and an arcade museum) as well as a vintage arcade where you can actually play the pinball machines.
The second floor wasn't as nice as the first floor and had some cluttered, messy booths and was more like flea market items. The stairs to the second floor were some of the steepest and worn I've ever seen and could be hazardous if you were not careful. So, if you decide to not go up or down them, you won't miss much.
Inside you will find collectibles, glassware, kitchenware, furniture, toys, vintage holiday items, sleds, reclaimed wood, vintage clothes, vintage TVs, vintage jewelry, and much more. My husband and I left with several items we didn't even know we needed. If you are in the area and only have time to check out one place, this should be it.
