I have been to the garden both times I recently visited Hershey and I will keep going back. The garden is not large so it is easy see in a short time but it is lovely. There is also an indoor butterfly room.

A nice garden that seems on par with many free public gardens to me. It is slightly pricy for what it is, although I did get a discount for buying as part of a package Auth the Hershey Story museum. The butterflies are the main attraction and probably worth paying for if you've not experienced a similar exhibit. The garden is nicely themed and well cared for. I enjoyed the views over the city the most, and you could do that for free. If you have ample time and enjoy gardens, or have children, it would be worth it.

Great place to stroll and admire the well maintained gardens. Expansive rose garden.
Friendly staff.
Nice gift shop.
Wonderful butterfly house.
A definite Stop if you are in town!

Great experience. Walking g through the butterfly enclosure then you enter the gardens. 3,000 roses on 23 acres with beautiful trees and shrubbery.

Beautiful gardens, and the diversity of tree species in the arboretum were quite impressive. The trees are beautifully cared for and each one is special. They have a staff member who is getting her degree in entomology - I particularly enjoyed her perspective on the arthropods they have displayed & in the butterfly atrium. Exceeded expectations :)

Beautiful rose gardens and a fountain welcome you to this 23-acre garden. We enjoyed a couple of hours on a warm afternoon exploring the gardens. There are a lot of benches throughout and plenty of shade. The front of the park is adorned with flowers, whereas the back part of the garden focuses more on trees. The weeping beech tree was my favorite! There is also a butterfly atrium, which was loaded with butterflies! They had a bunch of chrysalis on display, with many of them hatching. Kids would definitely enjoy the butterfly atrium as well as the children's garden. The children's garden is designed to be enjoyable for adults as well. The only slight disappointment was the garden care; the gardens & grass seemed dry & the roses needed some deadheading. They offer a teacher discount; be prepared to show proof.

We paid a visit to the Hershey Gardens in Hershey, PA. The gardens were fabulous with so many varieties of flowers shrubs and trees. Everything seemed to be in full bloom with so many varieties to see. The absolute star of the gardens to us was the Butterfly Atrium. This was in the main building, and they have so many different varieties of butterflies there. It is amazing to see butterflies from all over the world. My wife loves butterflies and she was amazed at all they had. She even had one of them to land on her hair. This is a very beautiful place to visit It is also directly across from the amusement park so you can combine them for a full day of entertainment.

Just a few mins down the road and behind the amusement park is a beautiful garden. The butterfly exhibit is lovely too. So many beautiful flowers, Shrubbery and trees. A number of areas for different types of flowers & settings. Lots and lots of roses !! There’s a children’s garden as well.

The roses were so beautiful! We took the best photos and had a wonderful time. We also loved the history of the Hersheys. We will definitely come back to the gardens if we are ever in the area.

Nice gardens for an afternoon stroll just below foothills of Hershey Hotel. Lots of benchs throughout gardens to sit and relax. Nice bench overlooking Hersheypark and mountains to enjoy refreshing Gatorade after stroll. Staff is friendly and informative.

Is there a special display beginning after Thanksgiving...for Christmas? Is so, when does it begin? After reading so many comments, I wish we would have used our tickets earlier in the spring or summer. Is there any chance we can extend the expiration date? Our tickets were a gift....and I di want to use them.

Yes, they do decorate a number of trees inside. I do not believe that they decorate the gardens but am not sure. I am sure the hotel will also be decorated as well.

How long would the garden interest children between around 8 years of age? Trying to decide if worth cost for 2 children and 2 adults

It would depend on what those children enjoy. There’s a children’s garden with musical interactive toys and several other things that encourage imaginative play.. There are some really cool weeping trees that are fun to play under and climb on. My grandchildren are a little younger (oldest is 7) but love being there—We always have to make them leave. The butterfly garden is also great for kids. And there’s lots of room to just run around outside. We can easily spend a couple of hours there. That’s when the weather is nice 😊. They sometimes have special children ‘s activities, which could also help.

No you can not. These are well maintained gardens so I don't think want to risk killing a plant or grass from dogs.

Hershey Gardens is wheelchair accessible. To avoid steep terrain, please follow the suggested route on the map guide. Hershey Gardens has a limited number of manual wheelchairs available on a first-come, first-served basis.

There are benches throughout the exterior. However, there is limited seating in the Conservatory, and no seating in the Butterfly Atrium.
