Love to go here when the world is closing in and you need a place to unwind and reflect. The woods are quiet and the area is beautiful

I love to visit out-of-the-way state parks because I do love the solitude and the nature. This is a park I visited as a child, and I decided to take a sojourn back to those roots. At that time, it was a bustling place, and the throngs would rush there during the hot weather to cool off in the dam. Well, the dam is no longer viable, and I was told if you have an extra million (sorry, I do not carry that much around), you could donate it, and the dam would be back in business. Nevertheless, this park offers some great solitude and the daring could camp there with no fretting about reservations. If you like to hike, the Mid-State Trail bisects the park. Worth a visit.

This tiny State Park sits in the middle of Rothrock State Forest, PA. I have used it a couple of times for simple tent camping on 2-3 days mountain biking trips. Amenities are few but that enables a more natural camping experience
