Great Chalfield Manor is a beautiful Tudor Manor located on the outskirts of Broughton Gifford. Approached from a long road, this venue is well worth a visit. The tour guide provides all you need to know about the character of the premises. The gardens are very attractive. Highly recommended.

Wonderful role playing guide who gave the manor tour in character. Also worth special mention was the live guitar player in the hall playing Tudor tunes. It’s is a simple house unusual in being unmodernised, at least in the tour areas.
Tours seemed to be every couple of hours so more frequent than older reviews suggest.

Fabulous house and the tour guide was very well informed about the history of the house and the various owners. The gardens and borders provide wonderful autumn colour as they take us into winter.

On arrival we where given a timed ticket to tour the house. The guide not sure how long had been doing it but was a little unsure on some points & jumped about. Don't understand why you do part of the Hall then move to a room to come back to hall to listen to more information. Part of this house is still lived in so some family photos around. Grounds & garden not the best. Cafe dreadful help yourself with honesty box. Paper cups a definite no for me.

Thoroughly enjoyed our tour of the building and grounds. Our guide was well versed on the history of the property. Definitely worth a visit, especially on a sunny day so the extensive grounds can be properly appreciated!

Lovely house and gardens...the epitome of a hidden gem. But our visit was let down by the guides.. too many cooks, disoraanised, random and failing to engage with the group. National Trust could do so much better.

Visited with my elderly mum, not too much walking involved which was good . Stunning place & beautiful gardens , very well kept and benches along the way.

Lovely little property with superb gardens. Jim gave us an excellent guided tour of the house and had a wealth of knowledge to impart. The nice thing about this house is you can touch the furniture unlike most other NT properties. Loved seeing the spinet and virginal. The gardens are an absolute delight.

Really enjoyed the guided tour of the house. Steven brought life to the stories about the family history with funny anecdotes. Highly recommended

I would say 'yes.' I've copied some details from another review that hopefully will give you more information. "We didn’t have too much trouble getting the double buggy around but did have to be careful in places. There were also some bits with a few steps that we didn’t try. Didn’t go inside the house but enjoyed exploring the beautiful gardens. Had to keep track of the children as there are some water hazards but they loved looking at the pretty flowers and finding autumn goodies."

Is the public footpath clearly marked between Courts Garden to Great Chalfield Manor? I plan to walk between and thought about using Leigh Road but I see there is a public path. I won't have electronic resources to navigate so I can take map or follow signs.

You can also get a map for 50p from the Courts garden - but although they tell you it’s a mile it’s actually 1.75 miles and not suitable for disabled access.
