We booked to see the
Railway Children Return at
Lite Cinema Red Rock Stockport.
We were in Cinema 2.
When we arrived there was a notice on the door saying they were having problems with the air conditioning and you could get glasses of cold water at the bar.
When we came out I had a word with the guy checking tickets and asked wouldn't it be a good idea if he told people entering Cinema 2 there was a problem with the air conditioning and you could take a cold glass of water up if you wish.
He was not interested or impressed.
I observed at least 10 people walk out.
I presume they went for a refund

When this cinema first opened a few years back me and my husband loved to visit for nights out, we loved the comfy seats and bar area and food. We recently visited again with some friends as we wanted to try out the new bowling and arcade before going to see the new Thor film.
The arcade and bowling itself looks really good although it is small but we were shocked to see how expensive everything was, most games were £1.25 but if you were playing it with 2 people that cost doubled and some games only lasted 30 seconds if we were lucky. Another thing that was odd was that you had to book online to use the pool table which was £11, when we tried to book it the next slot wasn't available for 20 minutes even though no one was using it. I was also really cross as me and my friend were queuing for the arcade bar to get a drink and there was clearly a queue, this man pushed in front of us and the staff saw and still just served him.
The only good thing was the bowling and the movie after but I felt the toilets upstairs were really unclean so I didn't want to use them after the film had finished.

Just terrible, the worst cinema in Greater Manchester.
5 months ago I visited and had a *very* bad time, the cinema is essentially a creche for people addicted to their phones.
I was convinced to give it another try, and they once again failed.
This time the projector broke, the 3D stopped working and a strange "wipe" effect went back and forth across the screen, every 5 or so minutes for longer and longer times.
I had assumed, having been told previously that they regularly check their screens, someone would come along soon and see there was an issue, however this didn't happen so I had to leave the screen to find assistance.
The entire floor was devoid of staff, so I went to the Foyer to find help, and was told to wait. 15-20 minutes later I was still there, ignored.
This cinema is *awful*, do not waste your time or money because you will not have a good time, you'll just be left abandoned and ignored because they already got your money.

this cinema is delusional. i went in to see batman with my 18 year old brother and dad and was not allowed in because it was a 15 and i hadn’t brought id. first of all why would i, a 16 year old carry around id and yes i understand doing so if i looked a lot younger than i was but i’m 1 year over the boundary. also i get if i was with my friends but i was with two adults. i was extremely disappointed as i’ve never been asked for id before and all i wanted to do was see a film. i never even considered taking a photo of my passport as it was pretty clear i was the correct age. i hope they stop being so caught on being as strict as they are and just allow someone in if they’re obviously the correct age.

Absolute shambles from the beginning. Don’t know how this place considers itself as being accessible because i was driving around outside for donkeys. The directions on the website might aswell have not been there. Got asked for ID to see Batman which is rated 15 and i am 20 and they were being rude whilst asking and in the end used my car keys as ID because I didn’t think I’d need any to WATCH BATMAN The seats are not comfortable and you feel like you’re sea sick watching the film because you’re constantly jolting back and forward with the slightest movement. The speakers in the film were god awful and sounded like they were about to explode when the bass volume was low. Not to mention the woman coming in and saying turn your phone off now??? Thought i was at the cinema not watching a pantomime. Overall, unpleasant experience and wish I hadn’t have even bothered. So much effort to even park up and get there

Why do modern cinemas put their wheelchair spaces on the front row??
I went for the first time recently to see a film..
• far too close too the screen
• angle was terrible (too severe)
I was in the wheelchair so couldn’t recline!
When booking, other cinema goers can sit where they like (unless it’s a popular film) but anyone in a wheelchair has no choice! - why couldn’t the allocated spaces be at the back? (with rear access, like they used to be not so long ago)

If you want a cinema that actively encourages a room full of people in a dark room to use their phones to chat, flashlights to look at the food they are eating, or just to drunkenly shout jokes at your friends, this is the place!
There's no screen checks, they let you do anything you want in a screening, when I went to see Venom 2, I actually found an abandoned weed-shredder in my cup holder, so they've got that going for them as well.
If you actually want to see a film, you should go elsewhere though, this place is just for terrible people to waste money.

If you are collecting your tickets it should be fine, but on th safe side always take it. Plus if you are driving you can park in the ncp and as long as you your ticket validated it’s free

Go onto their Stockport website - choose the movie and time you want, click on it and choose how many tickets you want to buy. It will then give you a plan of the screening room and you can choose which seats you want by clicking on them.
Once you've done this, it will take you to the payment screen, then you get a confirmation email after you've paid.
Once you get to the cinema, you can either collect your tickets from the machine to the left as you walk in by typing in your confirmation reference code or you can go straight to the person at the screens entrance who will scan the code on your phone.

I will be dropping my daughter at the light cinema on Saturday morning, I will just be taking her in to meet a friend. Is there 15 minutes free parking to drop off or will I have to pay?

I'm not sure about 15 minutes but if you can literally just drop her off, then you can drive round the top of Princes Street (near the Tiviot end where Light is) and you can briefly stop to let her out of the car.
If you need to actually park and drop her into the cinema then I'm not sure I'm afraid - you may be able to briefly park on one of the side streets as many cars seem to but I've never really taken any notice of the signs as I'm usually the one being dropped off .
