Visited with my grandchildren. Very enjoyable experience. The children loved it and so did I. Would definitely visit again.

What a treat.This place was such an amazing find for my ww2 nut,husband and teenage sone.The guide before going into the tunnels was 5 Stars,fabulous.It’s a bit chilly,so dress appropriately.We also took our 8 year old daughter and she loved it too,quiz to keep her entertained.Love this little gem

Very informative and an interesting march through Time. You are left to explore on your own so you do not need to follow and can explore the areas you want. Their is an informative speaker guide throughout

I've been here twice now and both times we really enjoyed it.
The information on the boards and on the headphones you wear walking around is really good and interesting. I'm new to Stockport so a little history lesson on a weekend afternoon was a great thing to do with guests.
I would advise that even on a hot day you might want to take a coat, as they are underground and therefore quite cool. And even though the ground is flat, I'd wear trainers or boots as it is uneven in places.
I think this is an ideal little trip for adults or kids. Sure the kids will get a kick out of the newspaper for loo roll. haha.
There is also a gift shop which is nice, although I admit we didn't really look round this part, but it seemed to have a good selection.

We went here with our three year old and my parents. The staff were welcoming, paying particular attention to our son and making sure he'd be ok in the tunnels and giving him a torch to use.
The tunnels were very interesting and the audio guide had a some good information in it.
A well presented small attraction with affordably priced tickets.

Absolutely fantastic! I cannot fault this attraction in any way! Incredibly friendly and very knowledgeable staff (not just about their own venue but about Stockport in general) and a very well presented venue! The (included) audio tour was incredible giving deep insights into both the shelter itself and general information about WW2 as well. Very powerful local residents' testimony and experiences with the shelter and insights into aspects of life there that you may not think about! For under £6 entry, it's the best attraction I've ever been to of this type! Well worth the visit!

My wife and grandson visited the air raid shelters and both said that they are really well worth a visit, amazing what exists below Stockport town centre. The Audio guide is included in the admission cost and clearly explains what life was like in the tunnels during the war. The reception staff were very helpful. We can definately recommend a visit to this historic jewel.

Do the car parks in stock port get very busy during the Easter holidays - reading the reviews it seems there is a multi story very close but how easy would it be to find a space on a Friday morning during Easter holidays ?

Would the air raid shelters be ok for someone with limited walking ability, are there any steep slopes or steps?

It depends which tour you choose the standard self guided which is shorter would not be to bad as its mostly flatish but it depends how bad your walking problem is. The longer guided with them is quite a lot longer and more unstable ground.

I would say yes it would be interesting but the film beforehand could be a drag as it goes on a bit, not sure about a coat we were fine in just a thin jacket.

£4.75 and £3.50 O.A.P but that's 2016 prices they may have increased now.
How long would you spend at the attraction? How long does it take to go round?

I would say, at least an hour but it would depend on how interested you are. If you want to listen to all the stories and read all the information panels them this will obviously take more time than than if you just walk and just look at the displays.

Its open everyday days exept monday from 1pm to 5pm saturday 10am to 5pm sunday 11am to 5pm but only for the shorter self guided tour a longer guided tour is once a month for that you must ring for details enterence fee £4.75 and £3.50 for over 65s and students
