My partner and I wanted to find somewhere with beautiful, quiet beaches with far-reaching views across the water. Being close to the water is one of his favourite things. Mullion Cove does not disappoint.
We recommend taking a stroll through Mullion towards the cove at the end of the road. Here is where you'll discover a cute small café (which does sell decaf and gorgeous smelling toasties). The café does takeaway coffees to pick up in readiness for your steep stroll along the coastal path. We watched some rock climbers behind the harbour wall and locals swimming with their dogs. It's really peaceful here in September, which we both loved. You'll only find yourself and a few others soaking up the quaint atmosphere.
A two mile walk north took us to Polurrian Beach which again, is a quiet hidden beach. We pretty much had the entire beach to ourselves. My boyfriend, typically, couldn't resist going in the water and he even managed to persuade me to take my shoes off and walk along the waters edge! A rarity for me!
When you're here, you really forget about everything else going on in the world. It allows you to spend quality time with your loved ones and enjoy their company. That's why we both love Cornwall so much. It's our happy place, with so much more to discover upon every visit.

Cons: Lots of slow caravans on the road. Saw a snake ekk!

It was a fantastic walk-hike-excursion. Even if it is little by little and even if you don't do the entire route from Lizard to Mullion, I highly recommend these walks along the Coast Path and particularly this one.

This is such a beautiful area, really rugged and wild. Such amazing views. Lots of wildlife to see, including seals. Love this area.

All the South West coast path is an excellent experience.
There are many hidden gems to discover along the trail that most people will not experience if they are not prepared to walk a while which means the few that do get some amazing spots to themselves. Hooray!

Fantastic walking, the coastline all along the Lizard is superb and on a sunny day the colour of the sea is amazing! The path is easy to follow but there are some steep sections.

Stunning but up and down. Kept up very well but be in rather good shape for all the steps. Could be marked better.

We have been walking up and down the coast path since we arrived. Mullion Cove, Poldhu beach, Polurrian beach- it's all within reach on foot and gorgeous!

No real parking near start of mullion cove unless you are staying local or you can park just up the lane. The walk is well marked but make sure you have good footwear as it gets muddy and damp under foot. You can get a bus back from Lizard to Mullion but we walked from Mullion Cove to Kynance and back. Stunning views and testing mid range walk

We walked from Polurrian Hotel to Lizard Point via Mullion Cove. Mostly easy walking with exceptional views.

We are staying at Mullion and will be celebrating some special birthdays. Looking for a gentle coastal walk, no more than an hour and a half as we have varied walking abilities in our group. We are there for four nights so looking to make the best of our time there. Up for sightseeing, a bit of walking etc. Looking for some top tips to make this trip extra special.

Some good ideas from the other posters. In this area one of my favorite walks is The Lizard Point walk (find it on our website) - great views and you'll often see Choughs. Although its 4 miles - it's relatively flat and can be easily shortened.

According to the South West Coast Path Association's guidebook (and some of this information is online), from Porhleven to Mullion is 7.1 miles and the going is "moderate" with a total ascent of 1109 feet and a suggested time of half a day. The guide says that Porthleven to Poldhu is about 5.5 miles
