The beach trek was fantastic! All the staff were great. Firm, fair and straightforward, which is essential for the kind of job they have. Tilly (I think, I'm bad with names sorry) was the leader of our intermediate group and was super lovely and looked after us perfectly.
I rode Albion and he was a star - a proper gent who clearly enjoys his job. There seemed to be a lot of riders in the group, but it ran smoothly and I had a great time. See you next time!

We arrived at Reen Manor Riding School and were met by the lovely team, our ride was part of my wife's birthday weekend and we had been looking forward to riding on the beach. We booked in and completed the forms etc and were then fitted with a riding helmet and told which horses we would be riding, I had Hugo and my wife had Gracie, horses that have loads of character and were so lovely tempered. We were looked after by the excellent team of Imogen, Tilley and Lilley, they were so informative and gave their advice on the horses we were riding and the terrain we were riding over. There were plenty of Trotting and Hugo and Gracie were absolute lovely horses so big and gentle giants.
The ride took over some of the most beautiful landscape passing over and down the Sand Dunes and then onto the stunning Perranporth beach. Once on the beach it was magical to be riding on the beach and then Imogen took us back through the town and again this was a lovey part of the ride.
If your ever in the area and want a horse ride you will never forget then you need to visit the team at Reen Manor, faultless and the best morning ever on horse back.

Myself (ridden twice in my life), and my wife (last rode as a child) were blown away by the quality of Reen Manor's staff, the experience itself, and the organisation of the place.
Opting for the two-hour Beach Ride (a present for my wife), we arrived at the well sign-posted stables a half hour before the ride was scheduled. (There's plenty of car park space). There were no airs and graces from the staff, we simply went to the reception, filled out a consent form, and were then efficiently fitted for helmets. Within 15 minutes we were back in the yard, waiting to jump in the saddle.
Sure-footed staff in the yard introduced us to handsome but aloof 16-year-old Albion (for myself) and Noah (for my lovely lady). Horses are great characters, with their own personalities, and we both quickly bonded with our two. Getting in the saddle was made easy - you are shown to a concrete step-up, and into the saddle you pop. We have no riding boots between us, but staff advise decent footwear (common sense) like trainers, but my advice is to also make sure to wear some thicker socks, to protect your ankles chafing against the metal stirrups. Otherwise, for the legs, jeans do just fine. Also, it may seem like you just sit there (if you have never ridden before) but you are constantly working your core muscles, so although you should dress for the conditions, don't expect to get too cold!
We were taken out by chatty, friendly and experienced Lilly, who explained in quick, simple terms, the basics of controlling / steering / stopping our horses, and we were both soon (no doubt down to our calm, experienced mounts) both feeling like journeymen, rather than the total amateur riders we actually were.
The beach ride itself is halfway in to the walk, which itself takes in lanes, bridleways, sand dunes and - out of high season - a return leg through the town of Perranporth, where you can expect many admiring glances, oohs and aahs, from the public. We both agreed, the experience of being on the beach on horseback is fabulous, and we were taken with practiced skill by Lilly through trots on the beach (and also off it). Again, the horses, being where the brains are, knew exactly when these designated trot-points were coming, much to our amusement, but made us feel utterly at ease in the saddle, while giving us a brief thrill at the turn of speed, power, and majesty of these animals - all while feeling utterly safe in guide Lilly and Kimmy's hands.
We have nothing but high praise for Reen Manor, and if you are an utter novice, having never ridden before, you will be in safe and competent hands, from start to finish. If you are a more experienced rider, the staff split the group between beginners and those with greater skill, when reaching the beach, and those veteran riders then get a more high speed experience on the sand. (Maybe next time!)
We thoroughly recommend anyone who is even considering this experience - it could be the start of a beautiful - and possibly expensive - friendship with horse-riding, and is a great way to see the fabulous Cornish coastline.

A fantastic ride with Reen Manor, the staff were excellent, very professional, friendly and safety conscious. We did the beach ride and it was amazing. Beautiful horses well trained and attentive. I would highly recommend this place.

I want to personally thank Tilly and the whole team for an amazing experience.
Considering I have never done house riding I thoroughly enjoyed the beach ride, where I was very lucky for the team to let me propose to my amazing girlfriend.
The whole experience could’ve not gone any better.
I am sure when we come to Cornwall again we will be back.
I would definitely recommend to anyone interested in house riding.

What a lovely highlight of our family holiday! Our eleven-year-old and her mum are really pleased to leave the following review for Reen Manor Riding School:
Being novice riders with just a little prior experience, we chose the one hour country lane hack and could not have enjoyed it more! The staff were lovely (and were even able to offer some advice regarding local eateries for later in the evening), the horses and ponies were beautiful, well behaved and certainly well looked after.
The ride was incredible fun, and we can say that riders of all ages and abilities would be able to get an experience that they will never forget.
We arrived half an hour before our ride's start time, filled in the expected paperwork and got fitted for riding hats. Then, an introduction to our horses, and a few words of basic instruction, and we were off!
What a lovely way to see one of our favourite parts of the world. Well done, Reen Manor; we'll be back as soon as we can.

Me and my daughter wanted to do a beach ride but we booked late so we did an hour's hack instead. There were riders of all abilities but plenty of escorts so that the experienced riders could hang back and have some canters and we also spilt up at one point to have a canter along a bridle path. It was very well organised so that experienced riders weren't disappointed. Plenty of cantering within that hour and the horses were lovely, we rode Dougie and Tara (Dougie needed a lot more leg than Tara!). Everyone, experienced and novice, seemed to have a good time. We'll try to get on the beach ride next time but this was great. Thank you!

We had a lovely 1hr family ride/tack with Reen Manor Riding School in Perranporth. They were a slick outfit, very well organised from booking to the actual ride. The route was lovely, horses well looked after and well-behaved. Would recommend.

Our family had a lovely experience at Reen Manor Riding School. We were a mixture of experienced riders and beginners but were all able to have a great time on the 1 hr hack through the local bridleways. The staff were very professional at all times and the experienced riders were able to canter on seven occasions around the circuit. Throughly recommended!

Excellent two hour beach hack for my daughter this morning. We drove to the beach car park up the road and watched her canter along the beach. She enjoyed every minute of it.

There is many options from 30 mins to 2hrs for all abilities. Did a beach ride the other week with beginners and those with 16yrs experience. The prices are at the bottom of their 'rides and treks' page. Check out the website here reen manor stables. com/rides-and-treks/ ☺️❤️

From the stables you cross the road and go down a bridle path towards the beach.Its a nice ride to the beach going down the dunes to the shoreline and riding along it and then retrace your ride back to the stables. It is a direct route and not a great distance at all.
