The trail was a little harder than expected in certain parts, steep inclines that are hard on the legs. We found starting from main beach really hard to follow the trail, lack of signage along the way. When we got to watergos beach there was a detour but no signs telling us which way to go. Along the path itself there are a few loose concrete pavers to watch out for. Hopefully the council maintains the track and places really clear signage all the way . Beautiful views all along the track.

Fantastic, the most amazing views of the bay. I was mesmerized by the strength of the waves below. Spotted whales 🐳 this afternoon.
It was windy, so bring a jacket.
The sunset was beautiful, the nature spectacular. This is a sight everyone should experience

De passage à Byron Bay, nous avons fait cette superbe randonnée avec notre fille, notre gendre et nos deux petits-enfants.
Ca grimpe bien, mais les enfants ont marché comme des chefs.
Seul petit regret, nous n'avons pas pu faire la boucle car une partie du chemin était en réfection.
Qu'importe, le petit phare blanc est très joli et les vues sont splendides.
En pique-niquant sur ce point le plus oriental d'Australie, nous avons vu des tas de baleines soufflant non loin de la côtes et plusieurs groupes de dauphins.
Génial !!

Beautiful walk from the main beach to the lighthouse- we went up on the road and down along the beaches. Gorgeous views along the way- we spotted schools of fish, turtles and were told there were sharks swimming around that day. It's a good walk but do it early before it gets too hot. Paved most of the way. And going down you get to the most easterly point in Australia.

This trail is phenomenal! The most beautiful sights of the ocean, beaches, rocks and the stunning lighthouse.

The walk from the Byron Bay lighthouse is just spectacular following the coastal trail alongside the Pacific Ocean. If your in Byron put this walk on your to do list. It’s not to be missed!! Highly recommended

For the totally energetic & sightseers .. there’s the multi areas of the Lighthouse Trail ( also known as the Cape Byron Walking Trail ) which allows walking / hiking up & down to the Cape Byron Lighthouse .. as well as to different lookouts & beaches throughout the Cape Byron State Conservation Area

This place is very crowded and impossible to find a park within a km. It's a nice walk, not for those who lack fitness though. On the path we saw a lady who had to lie on the path due to exhaustion, we helped her but mainly she just needed something to drink and to rest she said. Lots of tourists not being sun smart and oh boy did they look burned. The parts up the steps (maybe an hour or so of on and off steps) are in the sun. There are some lovely shaded parts up from the other side. The scenery changes as you travel around. I went with my dad who's in his mid 60s but doing ok but he said he was so sore the next day oh no!

You can start from town and it may take 2 - 3 hrs. Depends how often you choose to stop and enjoy the view and take photos. This morning I spent twenty minutes observing a resident hawk swooping back and forth around the cliffs with a fish he had caught. You can park and walk from Wategos beach and just go straight up to the lighthouse if you want a shorter walk. So it can range from 1 hr to 5 hrs depending on you. You can also park and walk from the captain cook carpark or start from main beach walk along the beach for part of the way. There are several ways to do the walk.

Hi there. You can make the walk shorter or longer. You can do the 3.7 km walk or you can park at Wattagos Beach car park and walk directly up to the lighthouse. which is a a short but good walk straight up. For people who do not want or have difficulties or challenges they can park at the lighthouse for a fee and just enjoy the coffee shop and view

Couple of hours depending on how many times you stop to take selfies/photos. Take plenty of water if it’s hot. Take the coastal route up to the lighthouse which we think is better than doing it in reverse.

walk from town byron town to the light house?
that might take some time... maybe about 2hrs?
but if u were to start from the beach car park and walk along the hill side route it will take abt 40mins walk which you will enjoy the wonderful scenery and the breeze for sure.
as for the sunset, it is so beautiful that there are no words for me to describe it.

No definitely not the walk up the many steps to the lighthouse , but baby carrier friendly if you are fit. But you can take a pram from The pass and walk along the road to lighthouse if fit, as, of course it is uphill. Or alternatively you can park at the lighhouse itself and pay parking. Or there is also a small carpark on the road up to the lighthouse where you can park for free. You could push a pram from there, its not far but quite steep and there is a path all the way on opposite side of the road to the car park.

No definitely no dogs allowed, you get a hefty fine if caught and you would get lots of comments from the locals as it is a protected area with much wildlife. There are beaches that have areas to walk dogs, so you can enjoy that with your dog - enjoy

Well you would go up before the sunrise, just check the time on that prior to your visit. Well worth doing and seeing. Sunsets are worth seeing as well. It is beautiful any time
