Don't see many small free city galleries this good (probably better than Wollongong's for instance). One room for the main exhibit but it was big and it was the local art prize exhibit with a lot of great stuff. Plus they let the artists write their blurbs so you'd get the most pretentious stuff about their life and culture and love of Gosford to try to justify the very ambitious asking prices. Then you have the Japanese garden, which is great - small but well maintained with crazy numbers of koi and ducks. Would be better than Auburn's if it had some cherry trees.

Small regional gallery with some interesting displays. Video presentation is now on in the main area.
There is an area for community art classes etc and a coffee shop.
The best bit is the Japanese garden were you can walk about of just sit and contemplate the stone garden or watch the fish.
Kids have colouring craft area.
Nice way to spent and hour.

Great Japanese gardens, wonderful art gallery and shop.
This cafe is a Gold Mine waiting to happen.
Today as doing a tutorial next door, brought a Portuguese tart as I did not want to pay $9.60 for a sausage roll.
Discussing to eat stale, very cold sweet treats.
Never, never, never will I spend money in that cafe again.
My friends visiting the week after Easter will be taken somewhere else for coffee and eats.
"What a pity" One can only hope for the future of this little cafe.

The art exhibition was just amazing. 11th and 12th graders art work. The other exhibit was closed for now. The garden is a little smaller than expected but very peaceful and relaxing. So many coils and ducks in the pond.

Called in to see the Japanese gardens, where entrance was free. Although small, and took around 20 minutes to leisurely stroll around, they were kept in immaculate condition.
In addition to being very pretty, there were a large number of ducks snoozing around the place, who went away disappointed when scrounging for food. We also spotted one Iguana surveying his kingdom.
The ponds contained plenty of Koi carp and the overall atmosphere was very relaxing.
We stopped at the cafe for coffees and a vanilla slice for just over $20.
We didn't visit any of the galleries though........

Cafe is a rip off! $60 for coffee and cake for 4 people in a very bland and basic setting. No prices on the cakes - so be aware! Staff not friendly either.

We mainly went to have a look at the Japanese Gardens, but on arrival saw the Gallery at the entrance. Interesting varied works in the gallery & a good gallery shop! Then out for a wander in the Japanese Gardens. Our daughter had lived in Japan for a few years, so we'd seen & enjoyed many of the gardens there. These gardens certainly have the right ambience & intrigue.

Great food menu. Very busy and ordering is a bit chaotic. Some order at table and others queue at the counter. I prefer table ordering, but it wasn’t clear that it was offered.

Enjoy the gallery and go more than once a month. The gardens beautiful. The shop is interesting. Give the restaurant a miss.

Yes, heaps of buses go through East Gosford, all leave from Gosford station. You can look at Busways web site to see route numbers and timetable
