The worse town in the country that has a few thousand people, there is no dump like this place! Nothing there, very dirty, real tacky! Rubbish dump!

Watching the sunset on the Hay Plains was on top of our list when visiting Hay. It is a must!
It’s only 16 km out of Hay on a good road. Loved the wired seating and table, goes so well with the surrounding.
Looking over the plains, watching the sunset, maybe even the stars if you stay longer and experiencing that Peace and silence are unique.
It was a moving experience.

I arrived here late in the afternoon but I was on my way further up the road and didn't want the light to fade if I had a distance to drive. I stopped here and there was another lady waiting for the sun to set. I had a lovely chat with her.
The views at all times of the day are a bit magical with the wide open spaces. There is a lounge viewing area here and an information board about the plants.
If I was to return to Hay again, I would make this part of my experience by returning here to see the full sunset.

As we stayed overnight in Hay, it meant this time round we had time to go out to see the sunset. We were in for a treat! Perfect weather, quite a few cars but plenty of room to get perfect photos. Go about 1/2hr prior to sunset so you can enjoy a good hour. We went in the middle of July and it was cold, so rug up and enjoy a sunset over the plains.

A little bit sorry, that for the night we were there, it was very cloudy, so although the sky was interesting, there was no bright sunset. Would love to see it. Good parking, in the area set aside to watch the sun go down.

A surprising little oasis off the highway to stop and watch the sky. Nothing else for miles around, so settle in with some nibbles and enjoy the changing colours as the sun goes down.

Spectacular way to spend the end of a day. Make sure to stay about 30 minutes after sunset - the earth is black, the sky turns a magnificent dark blue and there is a beautiful strip of orange glow on the horizon. Wine or beer help too!

We watched the sun go down with a glass of beer. There are a few chairs to sit on and watch the sun go down. Well worth stopping here to view.

This spot is definitely worth the drive a few minutes out of town. Met a lovely couple who had returned to Hay for a 55 year school reunion so got the added bonus of hearing a bit more about the local area and history.
Perfect spot to see the sunset and the lovely table and chair sculpture is a unique touch.
Only disappointment is that other earlier visitors left rubbish around.
