This area was a bit of a surprise. It is a beach area on the Murrumbidgee River. there is a ramp for launching boats, a picnic area and I think there may be a swimming beach. There is also a free camping area for caravaners passing through.

I accessed Sandy Point near the Skate Park... but there are two ways in; one via Brunker Street adjacent the skate park and another at the western end of Water Street.
If you access via Brunker Street ensure you are travelling slowly... the road in is dirt and affected by adverse weather, so you will need to show caution. I followed a caravan in so it is accessible, but you will need to do it slowly.
There are toilet and BBQ facilities, picnic tables & chairs, a walking/cycling trail and a sandy beach along the river. I arrived here on a cool day and the camping area had a handful of people there... all looking very relaxed.
The area is very natural ... very peaceful ... and very relaxing.
