We only did parts of the walk but love the concept. An interesting coastline gets its due diligence along the lengths of this walk. If you can't do all of it, drop in on parts.

Agréable promenade le long de la côte. On passe les sites renommés: piscine naturelle, phare, évents, office de tourisme, musée, camping, etc. Le seul endroit où nous avons trouvé une fontaine à eau est devant l'office du tourisme.

To call the northern part of this walk a “coast walk” is to call a donkey a racehorse. It passes mainly through suburbia, along a railway line and beside a motorway. The best view is of the sewerage works. What a waste of a morning!

Done the Kiama coastal walk over two days.
Spectacular views all the way, my favourite spot was Bombo Headland and Loves bay to Weeri creek.
Undulating most of the time but the views make up for that.
Was lucky enough to have a big swell on the days we walked which made it even better for getting that great picture.

I loved the parts of this walk that I did during my two-night stay in Kiama. However, some sections were difficult to discern and could have been enhanced by better signage. I don't know if there is a detailed map available, as I only had the town guide book with an outline of the whole walk ... a detailed map would be great.

It's a hilly walk but worth it for the great views and lots of rocky bays and fishing spots along the way.
It does get busy and there are some slippery parts on the trail but there are plenty of good spots to take photos.

As a keen bush walker, the Kiama coastal walk has been on my to-do list for some time. I completed it over two days - walking from Gerringong to Kiama on day one and onward to Minnamurra on day two. In all, a very enjoyable walk - the first section along the clifftops being the highlight. More details should you wish....
Firstly, in terms of gradient - it’s officially “moderate” but having walked the entire coastline from Palm Beach to Cronulla, the RNP and many of the bushland walks in the Greater Sydney & Blue Mountains I’d rate it as hard (I’m a late 30s active male). Day one was almost 100 flights of stairs and day two almost 50. The first and second stretch are predominantly grassy / unsealed paths and beach, with lots of ascending and descending, with the majority of the third stretch being a mix of sealed and unsealed.
Arriving in Gerringong by train, it took me around 40 mins to reach the start of the first section (at the northern end of Werri Beach). This stretch takes you along cliff tops and beaches of a stunning volcanic coastline to Love Beach. Whilst the weather was drizzly it was still stunning. I didn’t pass a single person on route. This was my favourite stretch. Duration just over 1 hour.
The second section was along more residential coastline, from Love Beach to Kiama blowhole. Duration around 1.5 hours.
The third section from Kiama to Minnamurra took just over 1.5 hours - with a detour to “Boneyard Beach” but not the broader Bombo Headland (as there’s a sewage plant nearby the area isn’t particularly pleasant to your nostrils). Whilst the view from Minnamurra Lookout and of Cathedral Rocks is stunning, the rest of the walk was less interesting than the first day.
The path is generally well signed, and there’s lots of information plaques en route informing you of the geology, historical points of interest and of wildlife.
A final point of note, there were a lot of magpies - a lot - particularly on the first section. Thankfully they weren’t swooping as their young had hatched, but I wouldn’t recommend the walk in peak magpie nesting season.

Sadly we hadn't left ourselves enough time in the day to complete the whole walk but we did get from the Blowhole to the little blow hole, which would be about two thirds. Some great views out to the ocean and a pleasant walk past lovely beaches

Walked from Minnamurra to Bombo and saw some spectacular views, rocks and beaches. The official path doesn't do much though - it tends to stick to highways and car parks, avoids the best parts of headlands, is interrupted by greedy people taking over the coastline, and allows bicycles. I enjoyed it more by avoiding the path wherever possible, e.g., out to Minnamurra Headland, down in front of the houses through wildflowers and rocks to Jones Beach, across Jones Beach, if the tide's low enough you might get across the rocks to Cathedral Rocks, then across Boneyard Beach to Bombo Headland and across Bombo Beach rather than walking along the busy highway.

Is this a pram friendly walk. I have read it is very hilly which is fine but wondering are there stairs?

There are enough sections around town that are concrete paths that you can go for an enjoyable walk, however further out they are unformed grass with stairs and not suitable for prams.

If we want to do the coastal walk and also see the blowhorns then what is a good start point and end point for this walk?
Looking for a maximum hike of 8 kms.
Thanks.

The coastal walk is 6km one way, and the starting point at Kiama end is a bit out of town. You could start at the large blowhole, walk around to the small blowhole (which blows better anyway) and then continue on to do the coastal walk to Gerringong, and catch the train back to Kiama, but this would still be about 11km walk.

Hi there, it is a little confusing reading the literature - from Kalang Road to little blow hole the walk looks like it goes into easts beach - however dogs are allowed on lead on the walk but inckear about this section as goes along beach - any local knowledge would be helpful thanks

I would suggest to use Google maps. That is what I did and I knew how much time to drive to every attraction. It works perfectly.
I hope I was of help to you.
Let me know if you have more questions.
