Tocumwal Foreshore is beautifully set up with paths for walking ... depending on what you want you can wander down to the water's edge ( which will not have a path) or wander along above the water's edge on a wide, well made path.
There are things to stop to look at along the foreshore, like information boards, the giant cod, children's playgrounds... AND everything is walking distance from cafes. So you could always opt to walk along the area after you have eaten.
The Foreshore is an entire precinct – from the Newell Highway / Deniliquin Road intersection to Murray Street in the north and south to the Boat Ramp Carpark.

Good spot to stop and stretch your legs. Has everything you need - toilets, picnic tables, walks along the Murray and water-park playground. Picturesque area.

We live streamed our Pilates and Yoga classes along the banks of the Murray and a lovely patch of grass with the Murray as a backdrop. Local birds providing background music.

There is allot to see along the banks of the Murray. Parking is usually available along the road by the statue of the Giant Cod. There are toilet facilities near the statue and also on the camp site following the river (away from the main bridge) adjacent to the town beach. There are notice boards describing the local birdlife that you might see on your walk. My friend who was preparing for an English Channel swim took the opportunity to crawl across the river to the far beach and suggested that it was quite chilly in July (I'll take her word for it). There are ramps where you can offload a boat and a modern jetty. The paths are well maintained and there is a pleasant walk along to the town beach passing some mighty old Gum trees. By the car parking is a modern children's play park and there is a good choice of snacks and drinks on the opposite side of the road to the main bank. Just along from the Cod is the local Tourist information office (under a model of a glider), then you follow the road around to the right into Tocumwal high street. During the lock down period this was a great source of exercise.

We left Victoria on the 7th July & crossed the border before closure. We were greeted at Bushlands on the Murray by a very grateful staff.

This is a great market something for everyone.
Plenty to choose from.
Stalls everywhere. New and used products. Plenty of food vendors.
Set in a wonderful area, beside the mighty Murray river.

Stopped in Tocumwal with family late afternoon. Nice township close to gentle river bend with grassed area plus beach. Kids under 10 will enjoy the little splash park. Adults can peacefully watch on. Beautiful landscape with eucalyptus alongside Murray. Some clever campers with great nature positions.

no hot showers anywhere rude campers shop keepers arnt really polite Tocumwal needs to smarten up on many aspects I'm not impressed I'll stick with Echuca or Deniliquin to camp till Tocumwal puts campers first and has a facility we can at least wash ourselves in so we don't drink Tocumwal out

Stopped along the foreshore for lunch. A few chairs and tables along the foreshore. Liked the Splash Park which would be good for the kids to play in, particularly during the summer months. Nice location and a good place to stop to have a look at the Murray. The grass looked to have been well maintained. Not too far from the main shopping strip. Great place to stop.

We were pleasantly surprised to find water in the river! Australian Iconic Murray River does have water here lol. We sat & took in the view & serenity of Tocumwal. Campers on the banks near the bridge if you are campers. Clean facilities. Excellent cafe across the road....early opener :)
