A stop on the trolley tour. Guide provided extensive info on the man and how he wound up in Jim thorpe. There is parking availble on-site if you forego the trolley tour.

5 out of 5 to see while visiting Jim thrope. History to be learned. This is outside of downtown Jim thrope, won't be able to walk to it.

Thorpe had a fascinating life story, which is partly reflected here. Our trolley guide tour took us here and had great stories to tell. But he neglected the reality of Thorpe's alcoholism and resultant alcoholism.

Two statues dedicated to Thorpe- one for football and one for track. Plates give you some indication of his accomplishments. Gravemarker is at the center of the area. Overall a good tribute to the man.

This is a very nice memorial. The statue is really well made and the information around the memorial is useful and gives meaning to the memorial. My issue is that there is no real fanfare or even indication that this memorial exists. The main touristy part of the town is 2 miles away and the only reason we found the memorial is because of our route to/from the town.
I understand that the memorial is at the gravesite, but maybe a bit more signage or at least greater fanfare for the town's namesake is in order?

Everything about this property was great. Exactly as presented and exactly as we expected. Cool old town with tons to do except in March...everything is closed in March...except Antonio's which has AWESOME pizza!

We made a detour to see the town - based on a list of "must sees" - maybe it was the overcast day, but the detour hardly seemed worth the time and effort. However on the way to our overnight stop we spied this Memorial and took a few minutes to read and look it over. I knew a lot about the great athlete, but my wife found it interesting. I think if you are a huge fan of Thorpe the Memorial is worth visiting. Otherwise - this is one of those quick stops if you happen to be in the vicinity.

Our tour guide, Glenn, with Jim Thorpe Trolleys, was very interesting and knowledgeable about this memorial. He helped us all understand who Jim Thorpe was and what a great athlete he was.

I would suggest seeing the Jim Thorpe Memorial as a part of the historic trolley ride. The guide on the trolley gave us so much history about Jim Thorpe and him being stripped of his medals and just recently there were notes placed in the record book about his accomplishments. Very interesting.
