I live a few hours away and called the day before to see if I can get a rain check due to inclement weather in the forecast. The receptionist said they do not issue rain checks until the day of and only when they physically see rain. She said to call back tomorrow at 9 AM when they open. I explained to her that my trip appointment is at 10 AM and being that I am a few hours away that I would have to be already on the road driving towards them to call to see if I can get a rain check. She then put me on hold for over 10 minutes. When she came back, she said to call tomorrow when they open and that they would issue me a rain check.
When I called back the next day (day of trip), they said they will issue me a rain check. When I checked the email confirmation, it said that I had a cancellation and was issued a store credit however, it was not in the amount that I originally paid for. I paid $294 and got a store credit of $278.88. I called them back to inquire about this. They said that a rain check is the same thing as a cancellation and I did not get my full amount due to processing fees. Nowhere in the policy does it say rain check is the same thing as a cancellation. (Attached is a screenshot of the email of the rain check and cancellation policy). So now when I want to rebook, I will have to pay out-of-pocket the difference due to only not going on the trip because of inclement weather.

They overbooked and could not accommodate our party even though we paid for a reservation several days in advance. We showed up and checked in at 9:30 for a reserved 10am 2-3 hour trip. The bus came at 10:30, and we were told there was no room for us on the bus. The next one would not come for another 1-1.5 hours, meaning we would have had to sit around and wait for over 2 hours to even start our trip (and jeopardize our other plans for later in the day.)
The staff refused to take responsibility for their screw up, although we did eventually get a refund. I would not recommend relying on this company for a family outing, especially if you’re buying supplies and/or driving a distance to enjoy it. Complete waste of time.

The construction on Route 97 caused significant delays, which unfortunately affected our bus schedules and led to overlapping time slots. We understand how frustrating this was, especially given your advance reservation and travel plans. While we did provide a refund and directions to a nearby public beach, we regret that this disrupted your day and left you with a negative impression.
We aim to improve our processes to prevent this from happening again and hope you might consider giving us another chance in the future.

I have been organizing rafting trips through Kittatinny canoes for the last 10 years. In recent years, I have brought parties of 15 to 25 people. To be honest, everything has usually gone pretty smoothly and we have enjoyed the trips except for this year mostly due to a very rude manager, who seemed more interested in punishing her customers instead of understanding the situation and resolving it. I brought a party of 17 people this year, but we arrived in three different cars. I arrived first and checked in at the window. The employee checking me in, took my ticket, but never logged me as checked in. When the rest of my party arrived and waited for 30 minutes in a line to be added to my party, they told them that I was not checked in and called me to the window. I explained that I had checked in an hour ago and just was waiting for the rest of my party to arrive who is now at the window. But because they claim I was not checked in that I had to go to the end of the line. One of the employees made a mistake in not checking me into their computer and so rather than simply check us all in at that very moment since we were all standing there with all of our waivers complete ready to go. I was told that I was cutting the line and had to go to the end. After much aggravation and being politely forceful, they decided to do the right thing and check us in which took 30 seconds instead of the 10 minutes they spent holding the line up trying to force me to the end of the line. I felt this was very poorly handled and not customer friendly and left a very bad taste in my mouth. Perhaps the manager does not realize that Indian head canoes offers the same trip and their base is right next to them.

What an amazing experience! The staff was amazing and made our group excited the entire way! Especially Kayla-so positive! This is our 4th trip and it keeps getting better and better!

My friends and I meet once a year to do this trip. We had 16 guys this year. Kittatinny Canoes is so easy to work with and never disappoints. They run a smooth and efficient operation. We went from Staircase to Matamoras. This year we hit a snag with rafts but all-star employee Kayla saved the day and solved the problem quickly. She was super responsive and helped with a smile on her face. Great company, great employees, and beautiful float down the Delaware. - Fat Floats

There is no instruction given as to how to get your tube into the center of the river. We ended up floating close to the bank which has many obstructions. We hit a tree and my wife’s tube capsized and she fell into the water filled with rocks. This is not an activity for children. The company showed no interest in our health. Lost hats, sunglasses and cell phone. Don’t go!

I booked a trip & called within 1 hour to cancel as there was an emergency & they would not refund. They had me on hold for 25 min then 15 minutes then hung up on me. Terrible customer service. I explained to the several people I spoke to that this was an extenuating circumstance I was just asking a reasonable request. The answer was no.
There are several other river companies so I would recommend you stay away from this one.

First timer . Loved this experience . We went to the parking lot .. the sign in process was a bit long .. had to fill up multiple forms and waivers . Wish they did these online , instead of holding up onsite . Lots of parking available. After signing in, we went in a school bus , for about 20-25 mins on the other side of the river ..
After going to starting point we were given good instructions and then we got our canoes. Perfect for a family . It takes 4-5 hours to row back to the base . Take it easy , relax and have a good time. If u try to hurry up to finish line, u will be tired and will probably lose interest After an hour . If u go with friends , wait for them , and go together. . Take lunch , food , water with u. U can park and have food .
Only thing to take care is rocks 🪨. We were stuck almost for 20-25 mins in shallow rocks , till we pushed ourselves out . Was kinda energy consuming . If u have gone multiple times , u would know..

This company is a crooked and stole our money. We made a reservation, paid the $100 deposit and showed up at the appointed time and place. We were informed that they had canceled our reservation. They had no idea why they had canceled the reservation and no one had contacted us about it. They would not refund our deposit so we were just out $100 and had nothing to show for it. Do not book with this company!

I reserved a camping spot only to get there and someone else was on my spot. We should have known something was wrong when she kept asking us to take a spot that was not full hook up since as she said we might like that better. After finding out that someone was on our spot we went back to the lady and she said she could not help us. I demanded my money back and was told they would refund me my money. They did not refund the entire amount. When I called I was told that the people on the spot was on the wrong spot, but the woman in the office did not mention that.
All she kept saying was that there wasn't anything she could do The lady who waited on us did not offer any help. She said that there were no other full hook ups available. Do not book a reservation here. It is a bait and switch scam to RIP you off. I could not give it a zero
