Beautiful hike

2020年11月

Beautiful park. Even though this is super close to downtown Pittsburgh it's very quiet and peaceful. There's loads of trails both paved and unpaved and with varying levels of difficulty. Perfect place to go either alone or with friends.

Beautiful and natural- a fun walk in the PA countryside

We have been to Frick a couple of times. There are several entrances, the one by some tennis courts has a parking lot and the one by the dog off leash area did not seem to, but I found street parking with no issue. I went to the dog off leash area and loved it. It was a nice walk in from the street so my dog got a little bit of energy out. The off leash area was very large and basically dirt/mud depending on recent weather. But the dogs and owners when I was there were very friendly and both my dog and I loved it. I would like to walk some of the trails and explore - maybe next time!

Nice Walk!

We were visiting Pittsburgh and decided to go for a walk in Frick Park. Even in the dead of winter, this place is beautiful. Highly recommend!

Great for hikes

A beautiful forest right in the middle of the East Side - great for biking and hiking, or playing with your dog. I particularly enjoyed the Tranquil Train, which is relatively flat.

If you are a cyclist, get your butt to Frick (and Schenley) Park.

Any cyclist, trail runner or hiker would love Frick & Schenley Parks. I lived in Shadyside for 18 months during a work contract...and instantly fell in love with both parks. Any cyclist who enjoys getting off-road (mountain or gravel) should string together these two parks for a weekly outing. The views, the trails, the convenience...amazing. In my humble experience, these two parks are among the best in the country for metro parks.

Excellent Day for a Dog Walk

2019年11月

We visited on an unusually warm day for Pittsburgh. The trails were in good condition and many are quite wide allowing side by side walking. There was no problem finding parking.

We spend several hours over an afternoon exploring lots of trails. It is a great place to go bird watching; take your dog for a walk as we met many other dogs out walking; taking children on a nature hike; biking the trails; or just out for a run.

There were activities listed for the park but we were not their at the correct time for any events.

Be Aware: Ticks in PA are very bad and this park is no exception. Since it was very warm, we pulled one blacked-legged (aka deer) tick off the dog. In the summer I am sure it is much worse.

Lovely Park

2019年10月

This park was beautiful with its fall foliage and its hilly landscape (we don't get much if that in Florida where we're from). The trees provide a natural shade along the pathway. This was a beautiful and peaceful escape from the city. I highly recommend visiting this place.

Visited For The Blue Slide

I visited the park to check out the “Blue Slide”. It’s well known for Mac Miller, an artist from the area that passed away. It was great to see this little piece of history.

I didn’t expect the park to be so large. It’s got so many paths to walk, views of the city, and locations to take pictures.

I’d recommend it for a family outing, casual walk/run, pictures for wedding portraits or engagement pictures, etc.

Serinity!

I was graced to visit Frick park, as an invitation to a romantic picnic. It definitely served as the perfect back drop. The park is well kept, clean and very peaceful. So peaceful in fact, I even saw a family of deer leisurely passing thru. Lol. Looking for a place for an afternoon, barbeque? a romantic picnic, a place for the kids, or gingerly stroll in the park, Frick is the place.
