My son and I checked this off of our bucket list today! It was an amazing ride. We walked, we trotted, and we saw a baby fawn! The trails were awesome, the horses were very calm and the guide was extremely knowledgeable and encouraging and sweet! We had great weather and I will definitely be returning here to horseback ride again in the future! All around it was an experience that my son and I will always remember!!!

I'd always wanted to go horseback riding, but being from the city it was either incredibly expensive or geographically difficult. When I was planning a trip to Jim Thorpe, horseback riding was one of the recommended activities since the surrounding area is just filled with great trails.
After some research, I found Deer Path Riding Stable. They are highly rated, and I can see why. They clearly love and care for their horses (a must for me). They have beautiful, friendly horses that are patient and well-behaved (my partner and I rode on Tucker and Biscuit - such big and mighty sweethearts).
The guides are personable and experienced - I LOVED our guide Kelly. She was fun and such an encouraging teacher - we had short trots through the trails that were exhilarating, but she also made sure everyone was comfortable and informed. No one was pressured to do anything, and safety was very important to them.
Also! Kelly was very close to the deer all around us. I understand why it's called Deer Path now - we were met several times with wild does, stags, and fawns, and it was all so lovely.
I would recommend Deer Path Riding Stable to anyone - young and old, experienced and first time riders. Make sure to book a reservation beforehand - it can get busy.
The price ($45 cash, or $50 with credit card) was beyond reasonable for the beautiful memories - I would say bring along some extra cash to tip the guides - they deserve it!
I look forward to horseback riding with them again.

My husband and I are locals, and found this place accidentally. We are so glad we did! The staff is very professional, kind and helpful. It's essentially my first time riding a horse, and the pace was perfect for me. My husband had a few other experiences and he really enjoyed it too. Our guide PJ was great. We definitely would like to go back!

We recently visited and had a fabulous ride and guide. The horses were very well taken care of and our guide gave a great ride. Our horses Honey and Katie were healthy and fun. Thank you so much for a wonderful trip and ride.

Took my teen daughter to ride for the first time. What a great experience! We considered several local places while away on vacation and after reading about Deer Path, we knew we wanted to go there. From booking on the phone to meeting some of the staff to getting a tutorial to riding the trail with our guide PJ, the experience was easy and pleasant. Everyone was very friendly, professional and knowledgable. We learned so much about the history of the company and the great care the owner takes to ensure the health of his horses and safety for all. The trail was scenic and varied. And PJ our guide was patient, attentive and interactive. Great experience!!

The most beautiful experience! I’m a beginner rider and everyone here was so warm and welcoming. Our guide, Kelly, has ridden all her life and gave me such great instruction. The trail was so magnificent and there were baby deer everywhere. And they followed us! The horses are so well taken care of and very well behaved! Thank you everyone for a great ride!

My friend and I had an amazing time with our instructor Kelly! You can also get a real horseshoe for $5 that you can buy on a table up front. My friend and I bought each other one. Thank you Kelly we loved our horse ride. We can't wait to go back! See you soon!!

My friend and I visited Deer Path Riding Stable and absolutely loved our experience! Both of us are at different levels of experience, I’ve ridden before and she was a first timer. They were very accommodating and patient! They paired us up with horses that fit our different needs and experiences. The ride was awesome and very relaxing. We were never pushed into doing anything we weren’t comfortable and overall had an excellent time! The stables were quiet and the horses were beautiful! I highly recommend taking a visit to this stable if your in the Pennsylvania area!
Best part is that it is a family run business so your supporting local businesses!

Took my wife here on her birthday weekend. We were warmly greeted by the owners. They instructed us on how to properly ride the horse and were very responsive to any questions. The ride was a wonderful experience. It lasted about 30-45m, was comfortable and informative. The owners truly care for their horses and their passion is evident. If you are in the area, I highly recommend coming here!

My cousins and I were in the Poconos for the holiday weekend and wanted to go horseback riding, we found this place online. The people here are very professional and friendly! Kelly was our guide and she was AMAZING! She was patient and very sweet! Thank you! We had so much Fun! #Milo #Biscuit #Honey
