Great place to walk, have lunch, walk thru their farm, take kids to the playground. A dog park, a carousel, very safe, lots of parking.

This park is truly a gem in Pawtucket, Rhode Island. 197 acres of land that started as a farm is now a beautiful park with many activities happening. One of the many features is the 1895 Looff carousel. Recent restoration of the carousel has been rewarded with the presentation of the Preserve RI Rhody Award in Stewardship. The entire park is a great place to spend hours just relaxing and taking in its beauty.

We are members of the National Carousel Association and we came here to ride the carousel. What a marvelous experience! Tickets are only 50 cents apiece. John Howe, the man who we bought tickets from, is very knowledgeable of carousels and this one in particular. This carousel was made in 1893 by Charles Looff. The animals were carved exquisitely – look at the different works of art behind the cantles (back of each saddle). The animals weren’t converted to jumping positions; the carousel spins really fast to make up for that. There’s even a picture of Charles Looff himself painted onto one of the upper panels. This carousel is truly worth experiencing.

Slater Park is located in Pawtucket, Rhode Island. It consist of walking paths, a farm, a beautiful river and lots of wildlife.
It starts at Dagget field on Dagget Ave and continues to East Providence
It has a dog park, carousel, farm with chickens and more.
Worth the trip.

We were in the area for a high school reunion and took a ride to Pawtucket. We saw the sign that there was an Arts Festival scheduled for the day we were there. I had been to the park many times before but never for a Festival. The park was pretty much closed to traffic and we had to park in designated spots on the grass. We walked among the booths that were set up and then along the river. We spread out our blanket and there was music playing. A play along with the music then started. The play was entertaining and looked like a lot of effort had been put into it. The park has the world's oldest carousel which has been refurbished. The fountains were spraying a d the sun was shining. The parking and admission to the Festival were free. If you ever have the chance the Pawtucket Arts Festival is a good way to spend the day.

Before covid, you could rent duck boats, ride the carousel, visit the petting farm and play at the playground. But it's still a nice park with baseball fields, a dog park, soccer & baseball field, tennis courts and plenty of trees and grass as well as a great bike/walking path. The food area is still open so you can still order food or get ice cream. Check the town of Pawtucket's calendar of events for free fun in the park.

I take my grandson here regularly to look at the ducks and walk around the park. He loves it. The playground can be busy in warmer months so best to go early or later in the day. The ice cream stand has reasonable prices and makes for a nice break from exploring. The BV bike path does run through the park so for those interested it’s a great place to park for free and start your trek north or south. There are picnic areas that can be rented via the park office. This park has great potential if invested in.

Such a nice place to go for a walk.They have a bike path as well as a walking path.Also has a little flower and gift shop wonderful prices.

Slater Park has pretty views by the pond, a carousel, tennis courts, a playground, and a dog park. There is plenty of parking.

Slater Park has some ponds, baseball fields, a petting zoo, a playground, picnic areas, a disc golf course, some food & a nearby bike path. It's a pretty basic & relatively small park.

The carousel has been closed all summer for renovations. It was scheduled to be open in September but as of today it is still closed.

I have been looking for a map of the park because I have reserved two picnic sites for a family reunion.
I have never been there and several of the family have not been there either.

It's hard to give an exact address because the park is quite large. The closest address I could give would be Newport Avenue, Pawtucket, RI. There is an entrance to the park on Newport Avenue, and also an entrance to the park if you're on Rt. 152 in Seekonk. From Rt. 152, you could take Rt. 15. The park is very close to the Seekonk, MA and Pawtucket, RI. line.
