Very friendly and accommodating staff. Light hearted fun for all ages. Staff keeps you entertained during the whole time with games and audience participation. Most enjoyable venue while in Charleston, S.C.

My wife and I went last Thursday the 13th. We had a great time, participated in the show which was very funny. Great staff/actors, the whole audience seemed to enjoy themselves. Highly recommended.

We wanted something different our last night in town and we were happy to stumble into the Black Fedora. If you like plays, good stories, a good laugh and hilarious audience engagement…..make a stop. We were able to get tickets the day of and had a wonderful experience. They serve drinks and some light snacks.

This was a great off the path little theatre. The audience is involved and my family loved it. My husband and 16 year old had parts in the play. Very intimate.

We love this place. We have been here the last two years on our way to Florida. The staff is friendly. The show is always so funny. The owner is wonderful. It is a must do.

My wife and I were in Charleston with some friends looking for something to do the night before our cruise. My wife found The Black Fedora Comedy Mystery Theatre on Tripadvisor and we decided to book our tickets.
What a great time the four of us had. On a Sunday after Thanksgiving, this theatre was packed. The staff, actors and audience all made this comedy mystery a fun and memorable experience.

What a great experience. Enjoyed the show plus we all had a part in it. Different from anything we have done in the past, but we will definitely go back again. A great night of entertainment at a reasonable price. You will not be disappointed.

If you love great entertainment and love to laugh, The Black Fedora is a MUST see in Charleston! We had a bus group of 33. Sherry was fantastic to work with. She helped us pre-book our visit months in advance, responded to all our questions and made sure our experience was exceptional. We had the best night of clean entertainment, fellowship and laughter. It was a trip favorite and I can’t recommend it highly enough.

This is a WONDERFUL experience !! You must go !! We laughed so hard the entire production of Inspector No-Clue !! And everyone is so nice. We accidently arrived an hour before we were supposed to. With 2 ladies with bad knees, I asked Crystal if we could just sit somewhere out of the way & she brought us to some very comfortable seats that we were in during the production. Some places wouldn't have cared & turned us away. We are very thankful she didn't. The food was pretty good too with lower prices than we thought. So all in all, it was a fabulous evening.

Is it possible to walk from cruises ship dock? Safe to walk? Is there transportation to dock

Hello! Thanks for asking! It is a very short walk from the cruise ship dock to the theatre -- .3 to .4 miles, depending on which street you take. And it's a very safe walk. You'll probably come down Market Street, which is a very populated and clean area.

I am so sorry I missed this question! I forget to look down to the bottom of the page where the questions are! We have shows every night during the summer, spring break season, and the Christmas holiday season. During other parts of the year, we are dark on Mondays and occasionally Wednesdays. We charge $24 per ticket -- the SC admissions tax makes it $25.20. Our website is protected by a secure certificate -- the credit card information is heavily encrypted as it travels to the processor -- but every once in a while, guests get that weird error, especially with an older browser, and even more especially when you link to the homepage without having the Ws in the address bar. It truly is secure! I'm sorry for the message saying it's not! Hope you came to see us in August!

Thank you for asking this good question! While the shows are for adults, they are appropriate for children, especially your age children and older. They are clean, with no bad language at all and nothing crude. Some of the characters you will encounter -- a French maid, a professor who likes "happy hippie brownies," a priest in disguise who is apparently robbing a bank, an audience character who thinks he is at a meeting of the Strip Sudoku Society -- obviously wouldn't be in a children's show, but are all silly and meant for good, clean fun. Your children won't get many of the references that you will (we hope) find funny, but there will be plenty of laughs for them as well. All of our shows are similar in this way, though Heist and our upcoming Tickled to Death may have somewhat milder humor than NoClue and Gin Club. Hope that helps, and hope we see you and your boys soon!

Thank you for asking about the appetizers! We have hummus and pita bread/crackers, buffalo wings with celery/blue cheese, chips and queso or salsa, and peanuts. That's it! I hope you'll come see us soon, and eat at one of Charleston's great restaurants -- there are so many nearby!

Hello! I'm so glad you are considering coming to the theatre! My husband and I run the place, so my opinion is probably a little biased! All the shows are similar -- with lots of audience interaction and silly laughs. We do the pirate show (singoff smackdown) less than the others, so that is probably why it is not frequently reviewed. It has a mystery element, but not as much as the others, and it includes a lot of favorite tunes from the 70s through today. Although it is not a kid's show, we did try very hard to keep it totally safe for young ears so families could come. And, um, I think it's awesome! :) Hope you and your sister come to see us!
