Nice course, came back nicely from the storm. Short and a bit overpriced, no doubt due to them being the only course for about 40 miles in any direction. Also very strict on their rules, no starting even 1 minute before 8 am. Played the back nine with no pins in 7 holes because were played 18 in 2.5 hours and were ahead of their maintenance staff. Then, maintenance got mad at us and told us we should have been held up at the turn. I was a bit put off by the attitude I got, so I didn't go back again as planned.

This is one of my favorite courses. We usually go to Edisto in September and December and the course is always in good shape. Near our condo. Reasonable priced for a course at the beach. Roughly 35 for 9 holes with a cart.
Only negative is on busy mornings they will not let you tee off from 10 to start your round.
But other then that can’t complain.

We had a good day golfing at the Plantation course. The starter was very friendly & directed us to Hole #1 and told us what to expect on the course. It was a little chilly & windy on this February day and the grass was still dormant so the greens were fast. I’d love to play this course in the summer. Overall we enjoyed ourselves.

Worst Golfing experience I’ve had. The cost is too high for the number of players allowed on the course. 15 minute wait between every tee shot.

This is a really nice course. The sand is a little rough, but there is not a lot of it. The one thing they do have is lots of water. Like 15 holes with lots of it. The only litte gripe I had was they had just aerated the greens and they charged full price. But being the only course here they do have the market cornered. It is a tough short course, the fairways are not really wide so if you slice or pull your driver, you may want to leave it in the bag. It is a good course to practice course management on as this will help you have a great round.

Course in excellent condition. Scenic course saw a couple of deer and an alligator. Multiple teeing areas according to skill level. Greens and fairways in top condition. Pro shop only offers pre made sandwiches, drinks and chips.

Early May 2019 - I played before noon on a weekday and the greens fee was $82.50. More than a bit steep in my view, a reasonable rate would be $60 -$65. I must have been charged the 'Yankee' rate (even though I have deep Edisto roots).
Having said that, the course is in great shape. The greens are pure but slow and don't break as much as you think.
Before I play next time, I will check the website for how much it will cost.

Excellent course...really enjoyed the layout...pro shop very friendly and accommodating...highly recommend playing a round or two here if visiting

Wife is pregnant so I played a quick round and she just rode in the cart. Course was in fantastic shape. Started at 2:30 and was done just before five. It was wide open. Rode up on a foursome and they let me play through. Got to see some deer and an alligator on the course which my wife enjoyed that. Excellent course for some wonderful low-country golf!

Absolutely love this place, especially in the off-season. Course always in immaculate shape. Greens are true. Course is difficult but rewarding even though it’s only a par 70. Outside of summer rental season can usually play in 3 hours; during summer be prepared for a long 4 1/2 hour round.
That being said, this course is Kiowa quality and thus reasonably priced.

I will be staying on Edisto Island (Wyndom Ocean Ridge) Oct 21-24. How crowded are you at that time of the year?

What I've found is that the course isn't typically that busy when I go (mid-May usually). The starters and pro shop staff are really good about letting you know who else is out on the course and when they went out, that will give you a good idea of whether you're going to be 'held up' or not.
I have found that most of the golfers ahead of me are unfailingly polite and will let faster groups or singles play through - this is welcome and refreshing and a good indication of good old Southern hospitality.
I don't think you'll run into huge problems playing at a leisurely pace in mid-to-late October.
