Captain Dan was great. We were a family of 6 consisting of 4 adults( 2 parents, grandparent, and great grandparent) plus 2 kids (6). Everyone enjoyed the trip. Captain Dan was personable, easy going, and kept us laughing and asking questions.
The trip was fun, comfortable, and very informative! Our guide, Andrew is a super guy that loves to share fun facts about the animals, birds, geology, and history of the island! It was a beautiful day to see HH in a new way!!
Awesome and cool experience! Our guide was Sebastian De Angelis, and my friend and I had a great time exploring the salt marsh of Hilton Head Island. We were novice kayakers, so Sebastian helped us to learn how to kayak. It was a smooth experience because of him. During the tour, we learned about the 4 keystones of the ecosystem and common wildlife. It was very informative, and we had a fun time. I'd definitely come back!
My husband and I, along with my parents who are in their 70s, did the 2-hour guided kayak nature tour and Patty was our guide. Check in was super easy. Right before the tour began, we got our life jackets and were shown the proper way to paddle. Patty was a phenomenal tour guide! She explained the ecosystems as we traveled through the water. She made safety a priority and made sure everyone in our group stayed together. My parents had never kayaked before, and Patty was super patient and encouraging as they had difficulty maneuvering their kayak at times. I would highly recommend this tour…and request Patty as your guide!
This was a great experience. Our guide, Grace, was AWESOME! She was very knowledgeable and so professional. I really enjoyed how she would stop every so often and explain about what we were seeing and experiencing. This gave everybody a chance to catch up and understand what we were seeing. This was a tour that beginners and veteran kayakers could enjoy.
The kayaking trip was informational and beautiful! Our guide, Paige was very knowledgeable about the ecosystem of the inter coastal waterways. She explained all the components that make up the ecosystem and described many of the animals we saw along the way. Would definitely do this trip again!
Thank you for the five-star review! We are very happy to hear you had a great time on the water with Paige! Exploring our local waterways by kayak is an amazing experience! We look forward to seeing you on the water again soon!
What a beautiful way to start our day. Great tour for beginners like us. Our guide, Sebastian was friendly, knowledgeable, and very patient. We highly recommend Sebastian and Outside Hilton Head.
Our family of 4 LOVED the 2 hour kayaking trip around Hilton Head. Even the wind gusts could not dissuade us or dampen our spirits. We learned so much about the marine ecosystem here from our intrepid guide Paige G. It was the perfect way to spend the morning—even our teens enjoyed it. Thanks, Paige!!!
Thank you for the five-star review! Despite the tricky conditions, we are so happy to hear you had a great time out on the water with Paige! Kayaking is a great way to discover our waterways. Come back and join us again soon!
We had a fabulous boat ride with Boo from Palmetto Bluffs to Savannah. Boo was not only a great raconteur, but he knows absolutely everything about the flora and fauna along the way. His experience and knowledge were very impressive! And he has a great sense of humor! Highly recommended!!
We are very happy to hear you had a great trip with Captain Boo and thank you for the five-star review! The waterways from Palmetto Bluff to Savannah are amazing to explore! Hope to see you again soon!
Thanks for your question.
Outside offers several different kayak tours every day. These include:
-4-hour wildlife paddle of The Pinckney Island Wildlife Refuge
-The OUTBACK that combines an interpretive dolphin/eco boat cruise to our remote and private chain of islands with a beautifoul calm-water kayak tour
and
-2- hour tours from two different Hilton Head locations.
The 2-hour tours are offered:
1. Through the waters of The Pinckney Island Wildlife Refughe from Buckingham Landing
2. In the waters of The Broad Creek Wildlife Artea from Shekter Cove Marina.
#1 is $5 more than #2. This location is a bit morte remote, paddles along an undeveloped view shed, and we limit the trips to just 8 kayaks
#2 is our most popular trip in the protected salt-marsh ecosystem.

During the winter months the North Atlantic Right Whale actually gives birth from about the Daytona Florida area all the way up to about North Carolina. You won't normally see them inshore, however you can get lucky and see them offshore while on a fishing charter. I have only seen one in my lifetime and that was up in North Carolina, but the possibility of seeing them is definately there.
Capt Doug.
