The venue itself is adequate, and the assisting crew is helpful, patient, and respectful. Seating is comfortable and holds upwards to 1000 people I'd guess. Rest rooms are big and clean and refreshments of all sorts are easily obtained. This is an older theater building, but it's been well maintained and the acoustics are good.
The one thing that needs addressing is the parking situation. Parking is an issue on busy nights. Once the very small handicapped lot and main lot are filled you will be forced to park across a very busy Church street. There is a traffic light to help but its 100 yards from the auditorium entry point. Most people will choose to cross the street in a completely unguarded area immediately opposite the entrance to the auditorium. There is no crosswalk marked and there were no police directing traffic , just a car with the blue "blinkies" running. You can cross there, we did, but be VERY CAREFUL. Traffic is not obliged to stop for you and may not. You would not have to work hard to get hit.

This was our first time visiting Spartanburg Memorial Auditorium. We saw the musical comedy Book of Mormon. The play was quite good with a talented cast. All the acting, singing and dancing was excellent. The show is hilarious. (Warning: R rated for language)
The orchestra seats have 5 sections. Orchestra center, obviously the most desirable with orchestra left center and orchestra right center being the next 2 choices. I would not recommend orchestra left or orchestra right at all as they are too far left and right for viewing a play. The balcony is pretty far back. It overhangs Row CC and Row CC is already 27 rows away from the stage.
Parking is in the rear of the auditorium which looks like a far walk from a map but they do have a rear entrance with an elevator up to the main lobby so it was less of a walk than expected. The parking lot is not huge though so latecomers may have to use alternate lots which they list on their website, so bring with you the 2 addresses they list as alternates in case you need to park at one of them.
Food and drink. We had not eaten dinner before we arrived and were able to get snacks like hot dogs, chicken fingers, pretzels, popcorn. I believe they also had fries, nachos, candy, etc. I saw beer but not sure about other offerings as I don't drink so did not pay attention to that.
Clear bags. They do have a clear bag policy and I saw a woman tried away for having her regular purse. Read more about this policy on their website.
The seats were a little wider and more comfortable than most broadway venues.
The only negative was some technical difficulties. The cast had their mikes malfunction 3 or 4 times so we missed some dialogue there.
Overall, I thought it was a nice venue with a good quality show. I would happily see another show there. (Just took 1 star off for the sound issues.)

First time to venue , awesome to say the least. Seats were balcony front center , great view!!! Really no bad seats. Parking was easy to find close the venue. Would def see another concert here .

My group attended a concert here and while the artists we went to see were supberb, the venue itself was a dump. As we traveled a distance to attend this concert, the first thing we needed to do on entry when the doors opened was to use the rest rooms. Many of the toilets were clogged up, the floor and tiles in disrepair, no hot water to wash hands, paper towels on the floor, etc. This was an hour before show time. The seat cushion on one of our seats was torn open and the row markers were crudely hand written on several of the rows. The staff didn't seem knowledgeable to assist me in my needs (I am disabled). This place needs to be shut down for a year and have some major repairs done.

We saw The Tempations and Four Tops in concert and it was not our first time. They were, as always, great entertainers and talented singers. However, this venue has a terrible sound system. We will not be attending any more concerts here. That's for certain.

Brought my daughter and so in law to see Gordon Lightfoot. A great balladeer, still touring after 50+ years. The parking was easy, my son in law recently had ankle surgery, finding our seats was easy. Seats were comfortable and stage view was good. The sound system worked great! A wonderful night!

This is a nice place, very clean and well kept. It is not too large, every seat in the house is a good seat. You can enjoy a concert or any performance here. The only downfall is that they do not have sufficient parking. So if you get lucky, you park in the back but if not its up for grabs and the surrounding area does not offer the best choices. The better (closer) the parking the more you'll pay. Still that's a small price to pay for a nice venue where you can enjoy a performance from an artist you like. best deal is to carpool and that way more of your gang will share the cost and location of a nearby parking.

We visited Spartanburg Memorial Auditorium and had a great time watching 3 rock bands. The ticket booth issued our tickets quickly and the staff was very friendly. Acoustics in the auditorium were very good and the seats were really comfortable though we stood to enjoy the liveliness of the bands.

Got tickets through the Vet tickets organization and took the family to the Wild Krats Live performance here on Thursday night. Almost a two hour drive with traffic from Fort Jackson but it was worth the trip. Family loved the performance and had a great time. Theater was comforatble and was well lit and sound was perfect. No matter where we were we were able to hear and see everything. The staff was friendly and very helpful and it was a great experience. I never knew who the Wild Krats were but thank you Spartanburg Memorial Auditorium and Vet tickets for the chance to visit this amazing place. Love the concession stand and it was not over prices either. Prioces were pretty good for a large family so you don't break the bank taking your family to an event.

The line for the event was EXTREMELY long,... as should have been expected with such an event (Tyler Perry : Madea On the Run). Parking was difficult as well. Many cars parked across the street in the parking lot of the City buildings, that were closed. After a second door was eventually opened to ease the line, it allowed crowding in the halls. There was vending, which included alcohol beverages!
There were stairs to climb to get to the auditorium, and stairs to get to seating, both upper and lower stage levels. (Difficult for disabled individuals.)
The show was worth the difficulty of getting into the tight fitted seatings, the loud inebriated audience members (that the event staff worked to control), and the traffic.
If Tyler Perry returned tomorrow, I'd return too.
