Knitting Mill Antiques has gone out of business. They may open somewhere else in Chattanooga at sometime in the future but no announcement has been made.

The Knitting Mill ceased operation on August 15. It was a favorite stop and we'll miss it. At least we were there on the last day of business. It will become a retail/office complex.

This place is a must-stop for antiquing in Chattanooga. The location is expansive with impressive variety compared to some other locations nearby.
Be careful to inspect the items you purchase closely, however. My wife bought a "vintage" handbag only to discover a Target tag tucked away on the inside once we arrived home. So, some of the dealers may be offering modern items that appear to be antiques. Perhaps it was not intentional, but use caution.

This is an interesting antique mall with a shifting inventory. Most of the time it looks like any other antique mall, with the same offerings of antique dressers and chests and hats and books. However, sometimes you can really find some gems in there. One time I found some outstanding 1960's Christmas ornaments at a really reasonable price. Another time we discovered a super rare Heywood Wakefield solid cherry table and chairs set that was made in limited production for the Cliff House in San Francisco in the 1960s. It was an unbelievable deal.

When I think of antiques and collectables I think of old buildings and this location fits the bill. It is located in an area that is being renovated for current use. The mall is large but nicely arrange into stalls for various venders. The displays are nice and so is the merchandise. We were on a tight schedule so did not get to spend as much time as we would have liked. There is also a restaurant at the other end of the building although it looked inviting we did not have the time to eat there.

You know how some antique malls are just junk that was found in landfills, this isn't it. Nice quality vintage items and antiques. Although we didn't find anything, we might the next time we go.

My wife is a big fan of antique malls / stores, so everywhere we go, that has to be on the agenda. We heard about Knitting Mills Antiques Mall from a couple of locals.
The building is, as you might expect, an old mill - huge location with long aisles of antiques. Interestingly enough, it was the key location to a revival of the area with Whole Foods and lots of other upscale stores in the same shopping place.
We enjoyed people watching as much as the antiques.

My husband and I visited Knitting Mill Antiques while vacationing in the Chattanooga area. It was very nice with a variety of items available. The building was really well done - just the right place to house this type of business. The employees were very friendly and helpful.

This is a huge place. There's lots to offer everyone. Pottery, furniture, antiques, shabby chic stuff, local t-shirts, bags, new, used, vintage, etc. It's a great little place!! Expect to send a few hours.
