“Great little place!!”

我们早上很早就去了之前就到达的第一个威尔士人坐长途汽车。这是一个安宁和一大堆的孩子们觉得很有趣。岛上的小村庄和很交互式的孩子和散步是令人愉快的。只有一个早上看这个地方的需要在它的完整和你会需要在其他地方吃的只是一个小咖啡馆茶和蛋糕! 但是这是值得的。

Great attraction with friendly staff

Lovely friendly welcome from the start, and compared to much around here good value for money. €28 for me, my 5yo and my parents.
Lovely little cafe with great home made scones and tea to start! Castle was great, just right amount of restoration, and the village and ring fort excellently done, with another friendly "chief of the village" in costume who chatted away with son!
Perfect day out for our 3 generations

Very pleasant day out exploring the past.

Lovely wooded walk with 16th century castle, Crannog, Ring Fort and boat used in the Brendan Voyage among other things. The staff all very knowledgeable and helpful including those in the entrance/café. I joined a group of spinners today and my husband explored and enjoyed the straw weaving demonstration.

SUCH GREAT VALUE FOR MONEY

We absolutely loved this adventure. Such great value for money and we learned a lot. Everyone was so friendly and very informative about the crafts weaponry and the traditions from this period in Irish history. I enjoyed making candles from bees wax and exploring the castle. Such a great day out and would recommend to everyone!

Worth a visit!

This is a wonderful site that shows you how people lived long ago in Ireland. With the exception of the tower house, the dwellings are replicas. The staff is knowledgeable and helpful. It is also fascinating to see the boat used in the more recent day expedition to prove it was possible for St Brendan to have navigated to North America.

Interesting and fun place

Site is wonderfully done. There is not only a castle, but a "village" showing what life was like in the Iron Age and also another for the Bronze Age. Guides is each location were fun and informative. St. Brendan's boat used to see whether or not St. Brendan could actually have sailed to the new world back then (yes, he could) was facinating. The forest walk back to the entrance was through a lovely forest and we even saw wild boar in a fenced off area. Tea house was welcoming. Recommend for all ages.

In need of a lot of TLC

I have wanted to visit here since I was a teenage history nerd. I am now a mid 30s mother with three young kids. It was only ok, I would rate Bunratty over this! We enjoyed it but it has the potential to be so so much better. Lots of the exhibits were gone to ruin and in a lot of need of TLC. We got around the place in 2hours.

We only met one character at the Crannog, she was absolutely lovely and informative with my kids, who are also history fans. It really could do with more characters especially in the castle and in the ring fort.

The wooded walk was nice

Fine day out.

The bronze age village was very interesting for my 5 year old granddaughter. I found a conversation with the guide there very interesting and I learned a lot about Irish history in the middle ages. Walks were OK but the weather had been wet and this did make the going hard in parts.

Wild boars were a first but at least seemed peaceful.

Toilets at entrance were excellent but could do with some more along the tracks.

Waist of money, very disappointing!

This place is definitely not worth the money we paid for admission! The pathways were covered in mud and it appears no effort is being made to keep the place in check. We had a number of small children with us who got several nettle stings from overhanging large nettles along the unkept pathways. I have to say I was extremely disappointed as I visited this place a a child on a school tour and had great memories of the place, however, it needs lots of TLC and it is very uncared for. Some of the points of interest on the map are not even visible as they are overgrown with weeds and foliage. All in all we felt a bit ripped off and we would have probably been better off bypassing this place. Definitely wouldn’t recommend.

Worth visiting with the kids to spend a few hours.

This is a fabulous place to spend a few hours with the kids. They really enjoyed stepping back in time. There is a castle to explore which is nicely kept. The crannógs are beautifully built with old wooden games outside to play. There was a very knowledgeable guy at the firepit with lots of different weapons, explaining how each one worked. There is a replica of St Brendan's boat in a huge boathouse at the back. And they have protected wild boar in an enclosure.

An enjoyable time stepping back in time to the Bronze Age. The children enjoyed viewing the Crannogs & the castle. There was a guide in the castle who was extremely helpful & knowledgeable. We had thought for the price of entry that there would be more guides like this available to inform us along the way instead of just using the little map provided.
