Located in the Jersey Museum, the Visitor Information Centre is easy enough to find. The guy who served me knew the good tourist places to visit plus he highlighted some good walks towards the north of the island (which I didn't do!). Also he pointed out some good pubs, particularly around the south of the island. Liberty buses make getting around an absolute breeze so there is little need to use taxis.

Would like to praise Jersey for the ease of getting around the island even from and to the airport. Bus service is plentiful and priced to encourage people to use it. Jersey also bucks the trend of most other destinations by providing plenty of clean and FREE public toilets.

Use Liberty buses foe your trips around the island. Amazing drivers who negotiate narrow lanes with amazing ease! Friendly and helpful drivers who will willingly point out stops if asked. Weekly travel pass is excellent value too

THE LACK OF A MANNED TOURIST OFFICE IN ST HELLIER WAS A BIG DISADVANTAGE. IT SHOULD BE IN THE BUS STATION & MANNED. BUS INFORMATION HAS TO DO THEIR JOB.
I WAS SENT BUS ROUTES FROM THE WRONG HOTEL. THERE IS A NORFOLK & A NORFOLK LODGE. TOURIST INFORMATION GOT THEM MIXED UP.
I WAS POSTED GUIDES & A BUS TIMETABLE WHICH HELPED A LOT. I HAD THE BUS & TAXI NUMBERS IN ADVANCE ON PAPER & COULD PLAN TRIPS.
ALL WEB SITES & PHONE CALLS FROM A BASIC PAY AS YOU GO MOBILE FOR ME IS NOT THE WAY TO GO

The staff member at the information centre was extremely helpful and she made our day a successful one advising on the vineyard tour & bus transportation timings. We followed her advice & our visit to the La Mare Wine Estate was a very enjoyable one. Thank you.

Strange over 50 years holidays in jersey
Café closed no staff beech empty
Restaurant close at 8 pm
St Helier’s shop August no people
MandS very dull closed WC
Jersey airport airport not helpful
The walk way where shopping not many tourists

If you do not hire a car when visiting Jersey, chances are you will use the excellent bus service and as all buses tend to start or end a journey at the station, make use of the tourist information centre.
The staff are very helpful and will provide you with maps and timetables, tell you which bus you need for each attraction.

Are there any short (about 1 hour) boat trips that would take a 3-year-old (ideally from St Helier)? He's been on boats no bother before but all the ones in Jersey seem to say minimum 4 years.

You can certainly buy hop on/hop off tickets. Don't know the price as didn't buy. Am sure if you go onto the Jersey Tourist office they will be able to help. Think it's a good idea and would buy myself next time.
