The Jersey Liberation Monument is a striking and lifelike representation of the Jersey population waving the Union Flag when the British Armed Forces liberated them after five years of German occupation during World War Two.
If you are interested in the history of the Jersey people during the occupation, this is one of many very interesting and poignant reminders on the island of that horrendous time in their history.

This is a nice statue, in the middle of the square, with a nice water feature. Easy to find, and a lovely landmark to meet up. Well worth a visit.

We cannot miss this very beautiful sculpture as we disembark in Saint-Hélier opposite the Hotel de la pomme d’or before approaching the city.

The Islands were cut adrift, no military aid would be coming their way. So, with the Nazis on the doorstop, the question became: what to do? And they did as good as they could, to keep themselves alive. But there was a cost.
Five years of Nazi occupation was not entirely horrible. Many islanders (more than half of the population) were employed by the Nazis. The Germans also brought in thousands of captive workers to build defenses.
Radios were confiscated.
Fifty years after Nazi occupation liberation (May 9, 1945), Jersey celebrated by erecting this monument to citizens shown flying the British flag in celebration.
This sculpture sits in the middle of Liberation Square. Maybe it is a reminder that you can possess people's physical being but you cannot posses their souls.

Just a statue in the square. Commemorating the liberation of the islands in 1946 from the Germans .
Nothing special at all and to top it off it was closed and fenced off but ok for a few minutes and to remember world history .
Besides this there’s really nothing there just a statue and that’s it -if you see the photo online that’s all there is there ,nothing else next to ,also there is ( in the summer time only ) a cart selling overpriced ice creams ,but be careful they close at 5- 6 pm ..if you came too late or want to go for a stroll and have your ice cream before dinner you are in bad luck -business must be booming then again !!! we’re talking a fiver for two balls of ice cream .not recommended and sad if anything .
