Beautiful park with something for everyone.. playing field, park for the kids, gardens, a maize, cafe and a lake with little ducks. I loved it here, very peaceful, and beautifully kept

Very nice. Lots of gardens to walk around although not a huge park. Nicely looked after. Great place for a stroll. Cafe nearby and a play park. Free parking.

A really lovely open park with a mixed set of activities for all ages to enjoy. Circular path round the outside. Japanese pagoda to view the lake filled with ducks. An amazing children’s playground with apparatus for every age. A café to eat at and in the summer a National Trust folklore and costume museum. Well worth a visit!

Lots of space at Saumurez Park for walk around the paths, a visit to the children’s play area, the tea room or just to sit and watch the world go by. Plenty of car parking and the rear plus an overflow area. To the front are some nice flower beds including a rose garden which at the height of bloom would be quite a sight.

A lovely park for walking cycling dog walking or for the children to play wonderful greenery lots of lovely trees and plenty of wildlife to watch plenty of quiet areas nice rose garden and why not visited the Victorian walled gardens there is a big play ground for the children to safely play in and a nice restaurant cafe to vist a nice way to spend the afternoon

Saumarez Park is a wonderful destination for a walk, a snack at the cafe, or a visit to the childrens playground.
There are some large old specimen trees from other parts of the world which are of particular interest, along with a walled Victorian garden maintained by volunteers. There is a cafe, gift shop and museum of Guernsey cultural history.
Please be aware that many of the walkers are elderly (including residents of the nursing home situated in the park), families with tiny children, and other people just out for exercise or picnics.
As a frequent visitor, I too often see adults illegally riding bicycles on the footpaths. This is exceedingly dangerous for frail people or tiny children. The signage is not very large, but It clearly says ‘no one on bicycles over the age of 10’.
Please adhere to this rule so that you don’t cause an accident. Commuters should avoid using the park as a shortcut. The surrounding lanes are just as direct.

Lovely park with children's play area, folk museum and café which is open long hours. The café has a good selection of reasonably-priced food and drinks.

How much of the children's playground is open? I read that the second phase (toddler area) should be open for the summer holidays but can't find up to date information - visiting Guernsey 16th-20th August 2017.

The playground at Saumarez Park is being funded by public support and the various phases are undertaken when funds are available, to date most of the activities for 5 to 13 year old's are in place including swings, slides and a mock pirate ship with climbing frames and rope ladders. The next phase is for a play area for under 5's and a model boat sailing pond but I don't think these are yet in place. The grounds are extensive with tarmac tracks for youngsters to ride bikes or scooters around in a traffic free environment, open grass area's to fly kites etc, and also a duck pond with lots of wildfowl and large goldfish for children to watch from the safety of a chinese pagoda.

Yes dogs are welcome, but people are encouraged to keep their dogs on leads.
