Wasn’t really sure what to expect from Quince honey farm, but had been wanting to visit for years. Myself and my partner had the best day. It was exceeded my expectations. We took part in all of the scheduled talks and displays and found them all so interesting. It was great to try the honey and learn about the factory, and to roll our own candle (£2 extra but well worth it). Loved the garden tour - and we learnt loads about the different flowers and weeds. Also really enjoyed the bee keeper demonstration. For £12 a ticket I think this is an excellent price. All of the staff are so knowledgeable and happy to answer questions we had. Also had a big cafe and a huge shop. Would definitely recommend a visit.

Not as good as when we visited on the old site 15 years ago.
We arrived at about 11am and purchased tickets. The talks and tours didn’t start until 1pm but we thought there would still be plenty to see before then.
Unfortunately not, the garden was nice (and we’re all keen nature gardeners so felt we didn’t need the tour at 1pm) but everything apart from the garden, restaurant and soft play (we don’t have children) was shut and locked - I guess we would have been able to access these during the tours but it was several hours before those were due to start.
So we had lunch (very nice, the restaurant and staff there were faultless) and left, feeling rather disappointed.

Hello, we’re very sorry to read your review and hear that you were disappointed. The exhibition buildings should have been and are usually always open in the morning. We are so sorry that they were not for your visit. Unfortunately, we had staff sickness that day which meant that the person usually on duty to open the doors was not there to do so. This place is amazing! The staff were so knowledgeable and the bee demo was great! We learnt so much about bees! The honey tasting was excellent and candle making was great fun. The farm is wonderful and kept to a high standard, the food was delicious. Very enjoyable day!

At my invitation, my friends and I visited for lunch and had what can best be described as a Fawlty Towers experience. Absolutely potty in fact. I'm not going to moan about the bog standard hot chocolate that cost over £4.00, but I will moan about the fact that the chef flatly refused to prepare me the contents of a 'bap'... without the bap. I was too late for a breakfast, so I asked if I could have the breakfasty type bap - but without the bap. There was some hilarious, and yet unfathomable to-ing and fro-ing between the girls working on the counter and the chef to try and come to some sort of resolution to 'bap-gate'. I suggested that chef could perhaps put the offending bap in a napkin and I could give it to my chickens later. To no avail, the girls said they didn't want to upset chef any further. I said, you should be worried about upsetting a paying customer! I sat and played with the dog while my friends ate pretty average, inoffensive food. In a cost of living crisis businesses should be grateful that local people make an effort to support them, particularly once the tourist season is coming to a close - a completely unfathomable visit. I will let my friends choose next time.

Hello, we are sorry you did not enjoy your visit to the restaurant. We have spoken with our team and they have explained it from their point of view.
We have dedicated time to developing our menu and providing choices to appeal to a wide range of tastes. The Breakfast Bap is a recent addition to offer customers a lighter cooked breakfast type option that is available during both breakfast and lunch service hours. Our food and drink prices reflect the charges we receive from our suppliers, and again, time has been spent setting these to allow us to be competitive and remain open as a viable business while still being fair to our customers. I’m afraid we are not able to reduce the price of a meal if a particular aspect of it is not required, as they are priced per dish rather than per item.
Our chef said he was happy to serve a Breakfast Bap and then you could remove the bread bun as I think from your review you would have been happy to do, but perhaps this message was not properly conveyed. He did also suggest to the front of house staff that you could order the contents of the bap individually (some of our cooked breakfast items are priced individually for people who wish to add extra portions to their order) and have them served on one plate as an alternative, but perhaps that wasn’t made clear either.
We’re sorry for this confusion and that it affected your experience. We do aim to be welcoming for all and we usually receive a lot of praise for our staff and the quality of the food. I came here with my Mum and my 2 (nearly 3) year old son.
We had a really lovely day.
The staff were all super friendly, the front desk staff, the restaurant staff, the tour guide and the man in the soft play. They all greeted us and made us feel very welcome.
We had time for coffee and cake before looking round the gardens, then going to the bee keeping demo. Sorry, I can't remember her name, but the guide was so lovely and friendly. She gave a lot of information about bees and the gives, plus opened one up for us to see inside.
After that, we did the factory talk, with a honey tasting session. Again very informative and also yummy.
Then on to the candle rolling talk, where we got to roll our own candles (costs extra).
After lunch we spent time on the large soft play area and then perused the shop before heading home.
We were there for 5 hours!
I would say that the tours might not be suitable for all little ones (my son is really patient) but they have play areas for them and he did enjoy rolling the candles (good Christmas presents).
The one down point to the day was that there is no air conditioning or fans in the soft play, so it was quite hot in there. Not great on a hot day.
But I do highly recommend a visit here. We will be back.

We visited the Bee farm today and had a great time.
We were greeted at the door by very helpful staff and a new lady training who was very helpful and talked us through the various talks and activities.
The talks and activities today were led by a lady called Maria, who was excellent, very informative, passionate and knowledge. Honey tasting was great.
Would definately recommend for a lovely day out.
Will be back.

A good day out,but spoilt by the potholes on the driveway into the the farm which split my near side front tyre.

Hello, we're very sorry about your car. We repaired the driveway before the summer, but the constant rain earlier on unfortunately revealed the potholes again. It is an ongoing project and we will be taking steps to repair again. We're glad you enjoyed the cafe and your grandchildren had fun in the play area. Kind regards, QHF

Dont rely on GOGGLE sat nav CRAP.plus road signs not brillant but the place ,,WOW ,BRILLANT ,INFORMATIVE ,STAFF. FOOD. IN BOTH SOFT PLAY AREA AND RESTURANT SUPERB kids loving the actives .quizs finding things in garden watching talks ,making candle ,and wow the tasting seccesions ,so much was siad bye the people favorite dis likes .oh nearly forgot grandkids loved the tractor ride . personally LIKE TO THANK everyone there for a great day,,,

What a fantastic day out. Plenty for all the family. First greeted by lovely staff. Had a wonderful breakfast in the restaurant 5 out of 5 considering we are all picky about eggs and they got them spot on. Then we went to the gardens. What a gorgeous place. Full of life everywhere you look. We watch a bee demo which was very informative and a must watch. Who knew bees were so incredible. We then went to the honey factory onsite. The Tour guide (Dave I think he was called) was incredible. What energy and passion he has. One of the funniest and extremely knowledgeable tours we've ever had. We didn't expect much going in and he made us laugh while we enjoyed possibly the best honey ever. It so good we ended up buying a few jars. The candle rolling was loads of fun and after we went to the soft play. Lovely area and easy to see your kids from where we sat. Overall an absolutely wonderful time. Didn't expect this as it was meant to be a quick bit of breakfast on the way home and ended up being one of our favourite days on holiday. Well done Quince

Hi, yes. Dogs are allowed everywhere except for the children's play areas. There are even free dog biscuits at the entrance desk in the shop. :o)
