What a trip to Mapperton Estates. My daughter and I attended a full day yoga retreat with the Viscountess teaching the class. We had a wonderful lunch, swimming, making fudge and strolling through the gardens. Everything was perfect, the staff was thoughtful. Can't wait to go again.

I loved this place, the staff ar so friendly and welcoming, and the gardens are amazing. As you walk along the top section you can look down and see the gardens laid out. There are ponds, a disused swimming pool, amazing topiary and lovely stone statues of herons. The wisteria running along the walls is absolutely stunning and I just loved everything about this garden. I found it incredibly romantic, in places wild, a must-see attraction plus a gorgeous manor house.

Mapperton House is a wonderful place for anyone seeking beauty and tranquility. We visited in May. The award winning formal gardens with magnificent topiary are set in a valley and lead down to an arboretum where visitors meander down mown grass paths lined with abundant cow parsley and with the golden rain of laburnum trees. Young children in our party were fascinated by the tadpoles and newts in the ponds. We highly recommend the Coach House restaurant for its tasty, fresh lunches and great coffee. We were so impressed that we went again the following day for the adults to enjoy the historically fascinating house tour ably led by the knowledgeable guide, Sally.

Highly enjoyable visit on a beautiful spring day. Very attractive gardens on many levels. Really liked the swimming pool and woods which were very pretty. Very nice cafe too.

Simply divine garden in beautiful setting, much better than certain National Trust gardens not far away, and better value for money. Cafe choices and comfort were very good too. Would definitely return.

Visited on a chilly and overcast day but it was worth the trip. The gardens were lovely and would love to see them again in the summer. We would like to say a special thanks to the two guides, Jane who gave us some interesting history before we entered the house and then to Trisha who had the most amazing knowledge of the house and it’s artefacts, she was a joy to listen to.

Spring plant sale was extremely busy today April 10th. The house gardens were well worth seeing but will be much better later in the year when more is in bloom.We didn’t visit the tea rooms but the queue was an insight of how popular they are. We also didn’t visit the house as well didn’t have time although from the outside it looks interesting.
Sometimes it’s best to just visit places as one opinion is so different to another.

A fine house! We visited in early April. I have mobility issues and was using an electric scooter. The receptionist explained where I would encounter problems and pointed out some short-cuts which would avoid some of them. The grounds were lovely, especially the Italianate Garden. We had a guided tour of the house. The guide was knowledgeable and made the talk very interesting and interactive

We had seen Mapperton on YouTube and as in the area decided to visit. As it was sting time the gardens were stunning in the March sunshine. So many daffodils, primrose and celandine in flower making the gardens come alive. We had been advised to walk down through the arboretum, where the magnolia was in full bloom and following the path through the branches we went into the Spring Garden. What an amazing and peaceful place. The food and drinks at the coach house were very good, with friendly staff, as well as attentive chickens and ducks that dropped in to see if there were any crumbs. A great place, and look forward to going back and seeing the completed swimming pool and a visit into the house.

Five stars is not enough. Mid March the garden was superb. Banks of daffodils, primroses and celandines.
Magnolias, snow flakes, hellebores, camellias and more, much much more.
The sunshine helped of course.

Sorry. Only just seen this and probably too late for you. It’s a bit limited for a mobility scooter. It will work i. Some of the grounds but not really in the house. Pity because Mapperton is a great visit.
Is there a children's play area at all, grandchildren aged 6 and 2

I went with a group from the National Trust Oakleaves. I think it was bout £18 to get in the house. The café was in a converted barn. There was a small gift shop, and really beautiful gardens at the back of the house. The entry to the house is on a timed basis.
