A great place to relax and browse through many different genres of books. Most were pre-read! Abigail was very helpful and fun to chat with. She was very knowledgeable. The store is arranged by subject matter and there were many selections in each subject. Chairs were provided as well for those waiting on someone to make a selection. A great place to spend some time!

This wonderful book store and cafe has a wonderful cafe with real fresh (not frozen and baked) bread. The literature inspired cafe menu is charming and tasty. The staff is knowledgeable, friendly, and welcoming. Below the cafe and bookstore is the Bird & the Book which has a great beer selection and is host to trivia, live music, and other fun activities.

The staff in the bookstore as well as in the café are helpful, friendly and fun. They go out of their way to help you find a book, record or music or sandwich or salad -- their salads are especially good. It is a kind of place you can buy a cup of coffee and maybe a sandwich and hang around reading the newspaper or visiting with a friend. They don't rush you out the door. Everything in the café is made to order so sometimes (especially at traditional lunch time) you may have to wait a little while for your order. Take that time to read a newspaper or browse the books and periodicals.

If you are looking for a small, locally owned treasure in the Maryville area, this is one of the best! The bookstore is a wonderful place to spend time perusing for your next read or chatting with the friendly owners and patrons, and the cafe makes homemade, delicious foods and drinks. I love the Wright Brothers sandwich on the rosemary garlic bread, and the homemade pickles are amazing! I want to try some of the grown-up lunchables with their homemade chicken salad next time. They also have gluten free and vegetarian options. I stop in for lunch whenever I can and have bought and sold books here for years!

I visited here with a friend for the first time. The cafe was awesome and food and staff were wonderful. Unfortunately, the bookstore staff were extremely rude and treated us with disdain and I have no idea why. It seemed we were not welcome since we're not regulars. I will return to the cafe, but not the bookstore.

Whenever and wherever I travel, I look for a local bookstore. On this recent trip to Knoxville I was staying between Knoxville and Maryville TN. This store is a short drive from the Knoxville airport.
This store is full of used, vintage, hardback, paperback, it is catorigorized by handwritten notes with arrows pointing to the appropriate shelves —
Be warned though, if you are expecting everything to perfectly in order this is not the place for you — however if you are looking to browse a store at a leisurely pace hunting for that special book you didn’t even know you wanted until you find it — kind of like looking for treasurers in your grandmother’s attic — this is definitely the place for you.
I came out with some wonderful older music pieces and a book about Bob Dylan. It was wonderful and I will be back anytime I am in the area.
There is also a small cafe that sent out amazing smells I will definitely build in time for that next trip.

My wife enjoys their chicken salad they sell at her work so we tried the cafe today. They have soups, sandwiches, salads, homemade desserts & coffee drinks. I had the Wrights Bros sandwich (rosemary bread, chicken, pesto, bacon, melted Swiss) with chips and my wife had the chicken salad sandwich with veggie straws. Both were fresh & delicious. The bookstore customers made the experience all the more pleasant with their conversation and the staff was wonderful. We'll be back!

This is an independent bookstore that sells new and used books. They have a very extensive local section and free wifi. They also have a cafe with homemade bread and soups as well as other dishes.

I love this place. A friend and I published a book or regional interest. The owner asked us to do a book signing and the reception was excellent. They have tens of thousands of great used books at super cheap prices.
I enjoyed the experience of browsing the books so much I've taken my wife there to shop several times.
Not only do they have tons of books they have a little caffe that's tops.
