I was greeted in the shop by a very pleasant team who made sure to let me know they'd be available for anything I may have needed. I was however disappointed when, after purchasing two bottles of whisky for gifts to take to whisky connoiseurs abroad, I asked for gift bags and was told the company did not produce any more plastic bags, but that I could have some sheets of wrapping paper. I appreciate the company's decision to cut down on plastic, however it would be advisable to have paper gift bags to offer, even at an additional cost, for products of this value. It didn't feel great leaving the shop carrying expensive bottles of whisky without a gift bag. If money is being invested in branded wrapping paper, it would be more appropriate to spend this on paper bags.

Reception was welcoming and informative. Guide knew his stuff and made it interesting and at times amusing. The tasting at the end was well organised and again informative. My only query would be I made the booking for three of us in advance of asking if there was disabled access which there wasnt so the visit was a no no. Could they have given me back a portion of the ticket price? Apart thoroughly enjoyable and informative.

We've toured several distilleries, but this one had a nice charm. Cat helped that a lot with her humor and kindness during the tour. We were given a very thorough instruction about the whole process, and then enjoyed a tasting of the 12 year old and the Reserve. Thank you for a very pleasant morning!

Did a tour today with the lovely Suzanne.
She was really good, great knowledge and a great distillery to visit. A fantastic distillery with a great history.

Glen Garioch is niet de grootste maar wel een heel leuke distillery. de rondleiding was af en ook hier mochten overal foto's genomen worden. Duidelijke uitleg en een leuke tasting nadien; wat moet een mens meer hebben....

What a fascinating visit. I have no interest in whisky but was happy to tag along on a visit. For a modest fee we were conducted around the distillery in a small group of 5 by a superb guide. By the end of the tour I felt I could almost start work there as I knew so much. The guide really was exceptional in her knowledge and delivery. I’d really recommend d this trip.

Cannot say enough good things about GG and their staff.
Always welcoming and friendly and go out of their way to help if they can.
The tour has just been updated and improved and the tastings on offer are brilliant.
All the team are doing great things under difficult circumstances recently and deserve to be applauded for keeping a feel good factor going at Glen Garioch.
On top of all that, the Whisky isn't too bad either!

I phoned on Easter Fri to check if the Glen Garioch distillery shop was open & was told by a friendly gentleman who answered ‘YES..it is open as usual over the weekend.’ My wife & I made the 30 min trip arriving at 12.00 on Sat. There was a sign up on the gate ‘CLOSED - PRIVATE FUNCTION’! We spoke to Elise, through the gate. She said there was nothing she could do - they were closed for a private function. Although she apologised, there was no real empathy or attempt to reflect understanding of my frustration.
Unfortunately I got angry (not abusive), for which I apologise.
Over the last 3years I’ve spent £1500 at Glen Garioch (our local distillery), starting a ‘legacy whisky collection’ for my Grandson (3 next week)! And would have spent probably tens of thousands over the next 15years.
This experience has made me look elsewhere and I have opted to complete my ‘Grandson’s Whisky Legacy’ at independent Scottish Distilleries (not many left). We got this year’s whisky from Glenfarclas.
Unfortunately I got angry (not abusive), for which I apologise.

Now, this place is fantastic. The staff are so knowledgeable on the tours. Extremely helpful and we enjoyed getting to taste their lovely products at the end.

Sorry we rented a car but you can catch a bus from Union Square going to Elgin or Inverurie and that will stop in Old Meldrum, the distillery is in the tiny village center
