Very nice view after climbing a path made of stairs on stones of different heights...
At the parking lot, a "visitor center" with lots of explanations and a very well done part for children.

I’ve walked this trail several times over the past decade with my kids at various ages and had mostly good experiences.
Unfortunately, the recent path upgrades using stone boulders have led to an accumulation of trash. Walkers seem to mistake the large bags used for transporting the boulders for trash receptacles.
I hope this issue will be addressed soon and measures will be taken to remind hikers to carry out all their trash.

Excellent walk. Didn’t read enough about this to know to take it steady - going up from the car park is nearly straight up stairs and a few steep paths. Weather wasn’t brilliant so didn’t complete the last 60m. The view from the ridge about 300m up is awesome and worth the climb. Highly recommend but be prepared.

This is gorgeous and truly a gem. The view from the top is insanely beautiful. If the weather is with you, this is an experience not to be missed. BUT! First, there is a long way to go. It's about. 2 kilometers, straight up into the sky. So it is a long, hard and tough climb ahead. But it's definitely worth the effort. The biggest minus, which costs a star, is that it is difficult to get there as a tourist. We took an uber from Glasgow out there. It was fine. £35. No problem. But. Uber is not licensed to pick you up out there. So there you had to ask the hotel to call for a taxi. It came 30-40 minutes later. And cost £75. So you just have to be aware that it is a hassle to get back from there. Perhaps we would have liked to have been prepared for that. Although it is still worth the visit.

We went as a family with 2 young boys (9 and 11). We loved the views they were stunning. The path and stairs were really good. I would recommend to anyone looking for a shorter hike. The visitor center was lovely with lots of information about our native wildlife and toilets were clean. The car park was large but very full id recommend getting there earlier in the day to make sure you can find a parking space. It is pay and display and there's 3 machines which are all well signposted however today only 1 of these were working.

It was a colleague who used to call this hill "Ben Lomond Lit", because it was 90% of the benefit for only 30% of the effort. (Personally, I actually prefer the view from Conic Hill.)

What a nice walk till the top .views are breathe taken .coming down was more risky .and it's a very busy path some supper fit people. And alot like us who who was going for it

Went for a lovely walk up Conic Hill on Friday 03/11/2023.
Beautiful scenery!! Walk was around 2.5 hours going up with a few breaks. Took another 40 minutes to come back down.
Got to see the beginning of the sunset though which was amazing!
Definitely a good walk for beginners 😁

To make on a sunny day. Departure behind the parking lot of the Balmaha Tourist Office. Please note parking charge of 2.3 pounds. A very nice walk of 2 hours, 2 hours 30 minutes if you take your time, it is not very difficult but it climbs a little steadily. Be careful, the end is a little steeper. But the reward is very beautiful, a magnificent view of the lochs.

Quite a difficult road. The weather is changeable, slippery after rain. From above there is a beautiful view of small lakes.

hi, i know this is late but might help somebody else - there is a tourist centre with toilets directly at the bottom of the hill, in the car park. and there is usually portaloos outside too which are kept open in lockdowns :)

Hi as most of above have answered, It can be cold, Wet, Windy, even snow can fall or be still lying from winter, Then again it could be sunny (As the saying goes If you don't like the weather in Scotland, Hang on 30 Mins). Wrap up warm especially your feet, Nothing worse than cold feet.

Small fly like insects about the size of a full stop ;o) Depending on the time of year, Peak season Loads, Colder weather fewer, Don't know what really works best out of all the replants ? Smokers say they are less bothered when smoking ? Some guys I know use Pure Lemon Juice (From the little yellow plastic lemon you get from the supermarket) BUT its a personal thing, Trial and error.
ONE IMPROTANT thing NOT to do is kill one...…….Because MILLIONS of the buggers come to the funeral..... ;o)

Can't agree. It's steep and if it's been raining very slippery. The path is narrow and if busy very tricky in places. Definitely doable but with correct footwear. Hiking boots. Ankle support. Good grip. Not trainers although many do. Popular with runners who were a nuisance on our trip.
Forest. Rocky terrain hill sone steps passing a stream then the hill of the summit which is steep.

Thinking ofor taking my 9yr old daughter on her first hillwalk. Would Conic Hill be suitable/manageable? What about a dog too?

Definitely give it a go! We had our 10 year old with us and he found it a breeze. There were lots of children, even younger enjoying the experience too and dogs galore.
