This place was recommended to visit during our stay in Tywyn. It's a short walk from the centre.
I was expecting an ice cream parlour with tables and chairs inside. However it is just a shop with a counter. From what I could see there were only 4 flavours of ice cream. Honey, caramel, mint and another one I can't remember. I had caramel, with a flake and biscoff toppings. £3.50 which I thought was quite reasonable.
As there was nowhere to sit inside, I had to sit on the wall outside and it was very windy that day so my hair kept blowing into the ice cream. The ice cream was delicious though.
I don't know if they used to have tables inside as there is plenty of empty space but it would have been nice to sit inside.

The largest & tastiest ice creams this side of Reykjavik! Choices of toppings were a lovely touch and very friendly staff!

Lovely, family friendly ice-cream shop. Gifts also available. Decent prices. No indoor seating so best go on a nice day. Card only no cash

It’s a tradition for us to go here every year. However it is definitely looking unloved and there are far fewer products in the shop area and no seating indoors. The honey ice cream is gorgeous but other flavours are lacking a bit of intensity. The only good one this year was chocolate hazelnut.

We visited this place for the first time this year (May 24) and it wasn’t quite what we were expecting.
Firstly there was only 4 flavour options (Apple, Honey, Cola or Banana) and 4 toppings which wouldn’t have been my first choice, but decided to give it a shot. It would’ve been nicer to have more common flavours.
Flavouring wise was ok. The icecream was made with milk, honey etc so it was quite creamy, making it very filling to eat. However, the portion sizes were very generous, plenty of icecream to sink a battleship 🤣.
The outside space was lovely, great views, well looked after and a nice sunny area.
Lastly, the staff allowed us to take our time, while we chose what we wanted, but once we went up to make and pay for our order they came across as unsociable, making us feel a little uncomfortable and unaccepted.
I don’t think we’ll be rushing back.

A visit to Holgates Honey Farm has become a bit of a family tradition, every time we are in the Tywyn area. When our family were still at home, there would be great excitement over what flavours would be on offer and which toppings they were all going to choose.
These days we are empty nesters, although perhaps we shall bring our granddaughter when she is old enough.
We still remember fondly the days when the 'shop' part of the ice cream serving outlet had all manner of gifts and snacks for sale, one could buy multipacks of health bars, honey, jam etc.
These days the shelves ressemble Old Mother Hubbard's cupboard, although this could be because it is early in the season - we visited on Easter Saturday.
Gone is the honeycomb topping as well - hopefully just a stock issue.
Hands up, I am not a fan of soft ice cream, so have always gone in and purchased, but not eaten the ice cream. My other half, though, loves it, particularly when new flavours come out.
I bought him a cone of Honey Whisky Cream ice cream with rainbow sprinkles on the top, and asked him to guess the flavour. Sadly, he couldn't - not even close - and was rather disappointed with the whole thing.
We have far too much history with honey ice cream to let this one 'average' experience put us off, so we shall be back when things are busier.

Very disappointed that on three
out of four occasions we travelled over an hour to find the shop closed even though we arrived 30 mins earlier than advertised closing time.

Found this ice cream producer on a small industrial estate
If you are hoping for local artisan product, this is not for you.
Honey ice cream is the main draw. I was expecting (for no good reason tbf) a gelato/ice cream produced from local honey and milk/cream. This isn’t what this is! Think a more substantial, honey flavoured Mr Whippy and you’re on the right track.
With expectations managed, they do offer a couple of other flavours that can be swirled with each other, and a choice of cone and toppings that kept the big small child happy.

The most flavoursome ice-cream around. Packed with flavour, produced with honey, not to mention a choice of cones and toppings.

Is the shop open all year round? Can you buy a box of ice cream?

Hi, unfortunately, we have stopped selling litre tubs of ice cream, but if the shop is not busy, we will fill your own container for you. With regards to opening hours, we are open all winter from 11am to 3pm on Friday, Saturday, Sunday, Monday.
During the Summer we open 7 days a week, from 11am until 5pm, and then 10am to 6pm in the height of the Summer.
