Breathtaking views

We started out to see Venus Baths and then decided to head on up to the peak. You need to be moderately firm& wearing decent footwear. The terrain on the way up is a mixture of stone steps, paths & of course rocks. We saw lovely flowers along the way and paused to stop & take in the view. Well worth the effort but be warned the last 30 metres is mainly rocks. BTW we did not hurry but it took less time than the signs advised. 2 teens and a 57 year old loved it!

It’s all about the view.

This is a good walk for the moderately fit. The view is good, as are many around Halls Gap. Take water.

Decent hike for a great reward

Start of climb is close to town. Moderate climb. Few areas where you need to climb over rocks. Dont be surprised if few kangaroos meet you on the way up. Great views from the top! Must do.

It was very windy

It was very windy the day we climbed this so I think we never made it to the top as we were worried we were going to get blown off. There were even mountain goats up here, lovely view to.

Good Hike

This hike is not as high or strenuous as the Pinnacles but it’s just as easy to access from Halls Gap. It can be a return or round trip journey. The views are very nice from the top and can also be enjoyed from the eastern part of the path (access beside Halls Gap Oval). The western part of the path goes into a narrow valley of ferns and trees (access off Venus Baths Loop). We did this walk in the evening for the sunset. It was nice to lay on the hot rocks in the shade of the mountain as the sun set.

Amazing views of Hall’s Gap.

The walk starts at the recreation park at the bottom of the hill. The walk takes about 2 hours up and then the loop back to Halls Gap. You are rewarded with amazing views, beautiful scenery along the way and stunning flowers.

Rock hopping to the top!

Brilliant walk from Halls Gap to the top of the mountain. Awesome views all the way up, and extra special after the rock hop to the actual summit!

Some of the best views in the Grampians

This is a beautiful scenic walk with many spots to stop and take photos in all directions. The walking track is well maintained and an easy incline to reach the top. Once you reach the sign showing you to go straight ahead to Chatauqua Peak things get a bit rocky. This is easy rock scrambling however you do get close to some edges so if you’re not fond of heights maybe take photos from the first rock. If you make it past here you’ll be greeted with some of the most beautiful views of Halls Gap, Elephants hide and surrounding valleys. As a local this would be one of my new favourite places to visit in the Grampians. Easiest way is along the walking track behind the Halls Gap recreation reserve although there is a loop walk you can do also.

Easy climb for a good view

This ones fairly easy to reach (still recommend some decent footwear) and you get a good view over Halls Gap.
Good photo opportunities and there’s parking at the start.
Go on, give it a go!

Great views without strenuous effort

This walk leaves from near the back of caravan park and finishes behind the football oval or vice versa. Only a moderately difficult climb with some rock scrambling if you want to go to the highest peak. Very good views of the Halls Gap valley will be your reward. I highly recommend this walk.
