It's my annual treat when I'm in Shepparton, to pop along.
This year? It's never been so expensive and so poorly " stocked ". 3 meerkats as you walk in ( used to be many more).1 koala( other was at the vets, fair enough). 8 kangaroos - now not allowed to feed them. Cockatoos etc - cage locked so can't go in. No wallabies- all sent to Canberra apparently. A tazzie devil, an echidna, a cassowary ( used to have 2). A few things in cages that can't be seen as theyre nocturnal. And reptiles behind glass. And that's pretty much it.

Absolutely dreadful value for money. Don't sell me the notion that the money's going on conservation. It's not going to Kyabram then is it?!
Lower your prices while the park is so empty and you may entice people back but I'm going to avoid it for a couple of years at least. What once was so delightful is now taking the absolute P.

The park requires some TLC, it is really unkept and quite a mess. Hardly any animals to see. Really disappointing day out.

Attended Kyabram Fauna Park with kids and hubby whilst holidaying in Moama. Must admir that I didn’t expect too much before going. I was pretty surprised at how big the park is. The kids got in free for school holidays so we were happy with $60 for us two adults. We spent longer than we thought we would there and just wandered around and were not too rushed. The place could do with some maintenance but it was overall a good day.

Please save your money! We have been to Healesville and thought it would be similar! Boy how we were wrong! Not much to do there, little animals and the only interesting thing was the new Dino's!

We are from the UK visiting family in Australia with children aged 9 & 13. The girl who served us at the entrance was rude and condescending. Charged us for an additional bag of animal food because we arrived with other families. We paid for the koala experience for the children, they were bored and unengaged. Very disappointed.

We were so keen to support local and take our international guests to see native fauna up front. Unfortunately, the enclosures were barely filled with wildlife. We only saw a few Kangaroos. They had troughs loaded with food so we’re not interested in feeding from us (cost $4 a bag). Melb Zoo took over the property but apart from the reptiles nothing has been maintained or brought to code. Currently lots of dinosaurs are being built, the animals we did see were not impressed by bobcats and the paths muddy marking our trainers quite badly with muddy sludge. Staff outnumber the animals! But those in reception are friendly and welcoming. Whilst improvements are being made to make the park better, you shouldn’t charge full price entrance for a substandard experience.

We had American relatives and they wanted to see native Australian animals. We could only find 1 koala from a long distance sitting in a tree branch right at the back of the exhibit. Only 3 kangaroos who weren’t interested in eating our expensive food bought in the shop. The emus were good and so was the Tasmanian Tiger. A lot of exhibits were empty and there were no snakes pertaining to this area. Feeding times were different to what was on the website. The fellow who did a 20min talk on the python snake was brilliant. We were all very disappointed considering it cost over $100 to enter. We have taken USA relatives there 7 yrs ago and it was a good overview.then.

Nice zoo and interesting group talks. Doesn't take long to get around the whole thing. We enjoyed the old town and the bird observatory and getting up close to the animals. You can see the improvements they are making.

The Kyabram Fauna Park is a 55-hectare fauna park in Kyabram, Victoria. With $3 million in funding support from the Victorian government, Zoos Victoria had announced in October 2022 that it has taken over Kyabram Fauna Park.
Kyabram Fauna Park is home to more than 400 native Australian animals including koalas, dingoes, kangaroos, wombats, wallabies, echidna, emus, flying-foxes.
My wife and I visited this place during our recent holiday in Cobram where we stayed at the RACV Resort for four nights. It was mid week off peak season and there were very few visitors. We enjoyed our visit and walked across all the areas of the Park.
Kyabram Fauna Park is home to more than 400 native Australian animals including koalas, dingoes, kangaroos, wombats, wallabies, echidna, emus, flying-foxes.

Hey we have family coming from England in a few weeks we heading over for a visit but I’m just wondering can you get up and close with the koalas?😀

We went during school holidays and they had put on extra sessions for going into the koala enclosure. You can give them a pat and get a photo with them. All the animal encounters and school holidays activities were included in the price of the tickets - just ask them for timings on the day you plan to visit. We patted koalas, kangaroos, cockatoos, lizards, snakes and turtles on the day. Enjoy!
